Intricately layered, every element was a significant contributor to the visuals and of course, palate if you are a matchaholic! The matcha ice cream was smooth, creamy with a distinctive flavour and a lingering jasmine-like floral fragrance. Though it lacks the characteristic bitter undertone that I would have adore, the sweetness was just right without being too milky. The matcha cake was soft, fluffy and cotton-like, with the matcha cream adding a mandatory moisture that’s smooth and light. Coupled with a pleasant crunch factor from the matcha granola, I was pleasantly surprised by its significant appearance, being a fan of this brand that I would always purchase it in bulk from the commercial stores. The granola also came with dried strawberries as well as fresh strawberries that added a tangy note, a slight acidity as a counterbalance to the other sweeter elements. Lastly, the matcha and yuzu jelly nestled comfortably at the base were soft, wobbly, without much distinct flavours though. IMO it would have been a better option having the ice cream present in separate layers for the parfait ie. both at the top and base or in the middle otherwise boredom might start kicking in once it’s gone from the start.

Afterwhich, get your cameras ready, the staff will quickly pour in the matcha sauce causing a sizzling and bubbling reaction to the hot plate.
🍵
It sizzled for a good minute or so before calming down, which was a good indicator of when it was ready to eat!
🍵
The matcha ice cream tasted familiar and yet yummy! The Mille crepe cake was moist but beware the bottommost later that is right on top of the hot plate is really hot! Don't burn your tongue!
🍵
I'm definitely coming back for more of this! Honestly, skip their matcha drinks and go for this instead.

Each set comes with an iced matcha latte topped up with either a matcha azuki donut (UFO) or matcha melon pan. Pretty cool and interesting presentation I would say, though they are served separately for easier consumption. The iced matcha latte was milky, with a distinct lingering earthy note that could have been stronger and less sweet IMO. It gets a little diluted after some time hence do drink it fast. As for the pastries that came along, the matcha azuki donut might appeal to those with a sweet tooth, with a matcha white chocolate coating atop the fluffy and doughy pastry that also came with azuki bean paste sandwiched within. On the other hand, the matcha melon pan was soft and pillowy with a crisp and polo-alike surface layer. On the downside, the flavours of matcha was faint and subtle for both desserts. Definitely not for the hardcore matchaholics (which I am one 🙈). .

I love you so MATCHA 🍵🍵🍵 http://danielfooddiary.com/2017/08/20/matchalatte #DFDMatcha

💚💚 Swipe to the end to view the sizzling effect (and sound) as the sauce is poured onto the crepe cake. The matcha Mille crepe comes in distinctive layers of thinly sliced crepe coated with matcha cream and a thin base layer of azuki bean paste. Creamy and luscious with a subtle matcha flavour that was further enhanced with the thick matcha sauce that was sweet with a lingering earthy note. Personally I would have prefer a reduced sweetness and more intense matcha flavour in the sauce, which was a tad sweet for a liking. The matcha ice cream surprisingly exceeded my expectations, though the matcha flavour was pretty mild, there was a lingering and aromatic jasmine-like floral fragrance that I adore, a great companion to the crepe cake !
