Kogane Yama (Bugis Junction)

The flavours of this dish, especially with the spicy sauce, are so addictive and tasty. I would definitely come back for more.

We had salmon chirashi don and mixed tendon with udon. Food was nice. However, my partner found a baby cockroach in the udon. We were disgusted and complain to the staff. They were kind enough to give a full refund, but we are still shocked and apalled that there is this lapse in their food hygiene practices.

Been some time since I've dined at this place, and decided to try something different as well! I had the Aburi Salmon Mentai Don ($12.90) which had a substantial amount of salmon chunks with Mentai sauce which was bursting with mentaiko flavours! Definitely enjoyed this bowl especially with the extra tempura flakes which added extra texture!

The mixed Tendon bowl used to be my go-to, but it seemed like the portion has decreased and prices increased. The bowl is still not bad and the fried chicken fillet is definitely still as juicy.

💬 Decent portion size. Tempura was crispy & fresh. Wagyu was surprisingly tender. Extra $3 for a set meal that includes a chawanmushi and miso soup.

unexpectedly preferred this over my usual order, their assorted bara chirashi don. but then again, i’m biased towards anything with mentaiko so 🙂 the salmon was just lightly aburi-ed and it had a decent amount of mentaiko, which was creamy without being too overpowering.
