Mad mad mad complexity. The meat was rlly tender w a lovable bitterness from the dark sauce. Not v crispy though.
Sambal was v fine grain, full of shrimp paste and had a strong kick

I didnt know theres a outlet at B1 of paya lebar square too, and the black charsiew never disappoints with its charred fragrance. In particular, i like how its not too fatty. Hojiak

Char siew has the right amount of lean meat with a little bit of fats that melts in your mouth. Not to mention the sauce was quite delish.
They offer 2 types of char siew - Dark Char Siew & Honey Glazed Char Siew. I chose the latter 》$4.50
This is so good I am so happy😛 they sell roast pork and meat too!! 10/10 would recommend to all!!
The dark char siew has a delicious black skin with black sauce but without the sinful fattiness, and it is thinly sliced just like the typical char siew that you will find in Singapore. While we would probably prefer the full-on Malaysian-style char siew, we must say that the char siew at Kay Lee Roast Meat is head and shoulders above the char siew at any normal roast meat stall that you will find in Singapore. 📍60 Paya Lebar Road #B1-10, Singapore 409051
