Nicely balanced braised duck that is not too salty. Paired with the delicious buttered rice. Heard they would be opening in Singapore.

While Kam Heong's name conjures up the image of a braised duck dinner, the coffeeshop certainly hits the spot for a morning meal too. Spend weekends with the family at this airy space replete with round tables. The Prawn Noodles (RM7) fare well with a stocky soup redolent of prawns and lots of 'liu' to boot, but one can always opt to have more with add-ons (ka liu!) like Tastemaker Sok Chien for an additional RM2! If you're here early, don't miss the Chee Cheong Fun (RM1.20 per piece). The homemade meatballs and sui kow pack a punch, especially with the delectable sweet, spicy sauce. Also good are the Wanton Noodles (RM6) and, for a light bite, Butter Toast (RM2.20) charcoal-roasted upon order!

It's always on top of my mind when comes to braised duck since I was young. The quality and taste today has degraded. The duck is so tender & the meat so thin 😶RM38 for half duck, 4 rice, 2 eggs and 1 large salted vege. I guess I'll not visit anytime soon.

I ❤️ Monday like this :)

💰: RM9 (with extra toppings aka ga liu) .

Restaurant Kam Heong in PJ State Prawn Mee 😘😘😘 RM7/bowl delicious. The soup is wonderful. Parking here is limited so best is to come early.

When night falls, hawker stalls at Restoran Kam Heong make way for this lone stall serving delightful braised duck. The famous spot serves a medley of good-for-sharing braised dishes, so bring the whole gang. The star on each table is of course, the beautifully Braised Duck (from RM8) doused in brown sauce, which you must order. Along with it, share the Salted Preserved Vegetables (from RM2) — seeped with flavours of the lard it comes with, the dish is not so much salty as it is aromatic. The finishing touch to a meal here would be a Braised Egg (RM2) for every diner! Opt to have these comforting dishes with either the seasoned rice (RM1.20) or a soothing bowl of porridge (RM1.20).
