As always, Just Dough does NOT disappoint. The black sesame fillings are really generous! It's grainy and slightly bitter and there are bits of larger sugar crystals inside that provide a satisfying crunch. Not too sweet and not off-puttingly bitter. If you're a worshipper of black sesame, you'll probably love this mantou!!

Finally tried the famous yam mantou from Just Dough and I can see why it's a fan favourite! This big boi weighed a whopping 141g OMG 😱
It is generously filled with sweet, natural yam filling, and the mantou is soft (I made sure to pat some water on the surface before microwaving cuz last time I heated my mantous after refrigeration, they were kinda stale). It tastes like a super classic yam bao, just that it's huge!

The chocolate in this bun is really good! It's rich and not too sweet. The mantou is really soft and nice too. Pretty generous amount of filling. However, the banana was just a single slice inside, chew too fast and you'll miss it. The banana flavour also isn't incorporated into the chocolate or anything. It's just straight chocolate.
Really good mantou! But yeah just treat it as a chocolate mantou to avoid disappointment if you're a banananatic.

First off, look at how enormous this mantou is! Just Dough truly nails being generous with their buns. Unfortunately, I don't think that the mantous keep very well in the fridge because the mantou becomes slightly stiff after microwaving (this one was kept for 2 days in the fridge). I guess you're supposed to steam it to make it soft again but steaming is so much work... :p So do eat yours fresh if you're lazy like me!
The curry wasn't super fragrant. It didn't have any milky, buttery taste like other curries I'm used to. It kinda just tasted like curry without any added 💫dairy pizzaz💫. Which is good for those who dislike overly rich curries.
It could be due to me keeping it in the fridge, but the chicken was a little dry and the egg was slightly rubbery. It wasn't all that bad though, it still retained it's taste. The fillings are suuuuper generous! Little bits of mushroom are embedded in the curry, with many potato cubes too. Once again, Just Dough simply nails the generosity factor!
Overall, a pretty good bun that would definitely fill you up and satisfy more savoury cravings. Wouldn't say it's the best bun I've had from Just Dough, but l I know I'd 100% repurchase!

Red bean mantou @ $2
Back for more delicious mantou within a short time frame.
Because it's convenient from the workplace.
Because i liked the black sesame one and want to try other flavours.
Because i saw them making the red bean one the last time and told myself i must get it the next time.
Love it because i can still see and taste the red bean bits.
Love it because there's probably very little or no added sugar so it's not overly sweet.
Love it because the bun is so soft and easy to tear.
Heard they now have the peanut filling flavour and definitely have to try that one day.
Black sesame mantou @ $2
Black sesame is simply 🖤
I like how the mantou is strongly flavoured with black sesame though I admit it might be too much for some people.
Got the room temp mantou and steamed it the next day. The skin was a bit on the tough side, prefer it a bit softer. Will try a hot version next time and see if it's better.
Also saw them preparing the red bean version, and looks really really good, so definitely gonna be back again.
Side note that their salad stand is not in operation now due to lack of manpower.
