Glutinous rice cake
It's a nice glutinous rice texture, with somewhat fruity aroma that was quite light. Sweetness was on point. Nothing too crazy but quite comforting
Handmade with traditional recipe.
Fluffy, soft texture.
Slightly sweet, buttery filling.

Kababayans everywhere, classic and authentic Filipino meals and desserts, familiar smiles and laughter...Just a note, Lucky Plaza is insanely crowded and noisy on a Sunday. 😜
If there is one meal that Filipinos would declare as National Food, it would be Adobo. Adobo can be anything; pork, chicken, squid, string beans... Anything that is cooked with soy sauce and vinegar. Who wouldn't be delighted with the fullness of flavour that an adobo can offer? 😍

Visited Lucky Plaza after a long time because we were craving for Filipino Food. We ordered Lechon Kawali (S$9), Sinigang (S$9) and Kare-Kare (S$8.45), which really had big serving. We all shared and we're happy! 😜
I can't believe how crowded it is on a Sunday! Everywhere you look, there's Kababayan. Hehe ☺️ It feels like in the Philippines again because of the same laughter and enthusiasm that all Filipinos exhibit. 😜😄❤️

Filipino BBQ Grilled chicken or better known as Chicken Inasal is another good try:)) lingering taste from its marinated meat content plus that unique annato oil giving it a special kick in the mouth! The meat has been grilled well, not drying out and very tender. Worth trying!
Sisig is a nostalgic Filipino street food, this one has a lot of bites to it, the pork jowls, and the ears have plentiful marvelous chewy elements in them! Highly aromatic, some nice charred bits, powerful lime notes that jelled with the chopped chicken liver! Flavorful!!
My maiden attempt on Filipino food, thanks to J, introducing an array of wonderful zesty dishes I have missed all these years:)) this pork sinigang was tangy and not excessively oily to stomach.
To us, this is the national favourite dessert! Hihihi. So far, I don't know any Filipino who doesn't like Leche Flan. Hmm, is there anyone? 🤔

Christmas comes early for us! 🎄 We just have "Bibingka" $2.5 for 3 pcs. (a traditional rice cake from PH/ID usually eaten during Christmas). They are not overly sweet and the banana leaf base & charred top make them look special!! 😻

We have tried a few dessert from Inasal in Lucky Plaza before. Not totally swept by Bibingka as it becomes bland when left in open air (best served hot). Their Cassava cake is still our most favourite after all!!! 👌

Never tried Filipino cuisine before. Always pass through Inasal and notice a long queue at the front (p.s. Their restaurant serving warm Filipino Dishes is also open at the back)🕺

Today is no different and the queue is already there. We ordered 2 takeaway Filipino desserts: Biko $1.00 & Cassava Cake $1.50. Biko (on your left) is a sweet rice cake (we assume it's made with black glutinous rice). 💁♂️ It is not too sweet but the rice texture is not consistent. We prefer the Cassava cake (on your right) which is rich & addictive. The smell of coconut & butter make it so lush and go very well with our tea. 🍵

Definitely come back for savoury dishes in next occasion. Check them out if you are in lucky plaza (Suggest going there during weekday as the place is very crowded on Sunday)🤓
