The whole is literally 88++. Which is dumb because there's no discount whatsoever
Anyway there's no crisp, the tea smell isn't particularly strong at all. However the marination which is really mostly brining is pretty good, so the duck is flavourful if a little too salty
Pretty decent dish
Lunch only
This is srsly dumb. Idk why Chinese restaurants here think that xlb is dimsum. Dimsum is a Cantonese concept, not a Shanghainese one. Any xlb shop in Shanghai serves xlb way into the night, until 10pm even, not until 230pm. You can't be a self respecting Shanghainese place and only serve xlb, shengjian for lunch.
Food:
Surprisingly, the xlb is actl ok. Soup is passable, the skin they changed it into a mochi kind of skin so you can't criticise their lack of expertise in the traditional style, and the filling was meh
However, if the trip to Shanghai 2 weeks ago taught me anything, it's that the soup of the xlb is the soul of the dish and as such;
this is one of the few places in Singapore with a pass for xlb
Quite a comforting good execution, lotus root was steamed to tenderness, very harmonious texture with the glutinous rice and flavour was on the mild side but enough
Not bad
Jesus this was so meh, which is a disaster at this price. Cartilage has no crunch, the skin was not tender. Mild spicy flavour got nothing to do with Shanghai
Skippppppp
THIS SLAPS. MUST ORDER.
Looks unassuming and normal, but it’s one of the best red bean pancakes I’ve eaten. The pancake was so thin and crispy but very tasty. There was this layer of mochi with a generous spread of red bean inside. Amazing.
Pretty good dim sum in general, would highly recommend the Beancurd with mushrooms! I’ve not seen it anywhere else but it taste great! The crispy skin goes so well with the mushrooms :)
Definitely on the pricier side, ordered about 5-6 dim sums dishes for about $120. But was yummy.
