More Reviews of good food at Ikoi Japanese Restaurant

If you love your Japanese food, this is one buffet restaurant you don't want to miss out on.

The buffet itself is priced at $50++, and there were many options in the menu such as sashimi, grilled dishes, tempura, side dishes and udon/soba meal dishes.

The quality of the food items were actually pretty impressive! The sashimi slices were all fresh and the cooked dishes were all done well. Favourites got to be their salmon sashimi, as they were so rich and buttery 😍

Their grilled dishes were done well too, especially the grilled saba and salmon slices. They were smokey and the sweet fresh flavours of the meat really shines here!

Can't wait to be back!

free flow of freshness for sashimi lovers.

bonus: leave some space for two dishes - mixed zosui (japanese porridge) and sake-chazuke (rice with green tea). Recommend to have it at the end since they are carbs.

Booked more than 1 month in advance and when I came, they mentioned that my name is not on their record. We were offered counter seat which we relectantly accept. After 20mins later, was offered a table seat probably due to no show or customer cannot make it.

Item was limited compared to other Japanese Sashimi Buffet which is understandable due to cheaper in price but service was slow. Throughout our dining experience, we wait more than our actual eating time. Good thing we went during lunch time. If it's dinner, meal is limited to 2hrs per table. With such slow service, I wonder how they able to handle dinner crowd

Always back for more fresh salmon sashimi 😍 The tempura is yummy and I like how the mains come in small portions to save your stomach space for the more ‘worth it’ items (like sashimi). Food and ambience feels quite authentic and the variety of food is good too! Be sure to book in advance.

Service was a little slow but their salmon, yellowtail and cuttlefish sashimi were very good! (The eggplant side dish is a must-try too.)

Cold and juicy, the best swordfish sashimi I had and it’s free flow! When I go to ikoi, swordfish sashimi is a mask. These 2 slices was what I ordered after I am so full but still can’t bear to part with the swordfish

Sharing my favourite Japanese buffet place to satisfy sashimi craving. They serve good quality, thick and juicy sashimi here, swordfish is my favourite because it is always juicy cold when bite into.

Other than sashimi, I also really enjoy the teapot soup, it’s complimentary and can request for more!

Buffet includes free flow of sashimi, sushi, grilled, deep fried, sides, noodles & rice, all in small portions so you can enjoy more! Advised to make reservations in advance as restaurant are always full.

Buffet $38++

A popular jap buffet restaurant at Hotel Miramar that gets really crowded and busy in the evenings! Reservations is a must to get a seat. The place is pretty small so it gets very squeezy.

Things I would recommend having are their sashimi which is really fresh and thick! Their ebi or mushroom tempura would be the other must have items.

I didn’t find the buffet really all that good as there is another which I feel is better across the road. You can still get a decent (very filling) meal no doubt!

Part of the buffet ($38), cold somen is one of the offerings and I absolutely adore the serving sizes they have here. This somen was light and refreshing! You could finish it in a slurp.

Staff tend to be swamped with orders and may not get to you in time. Kitchen takes very long to prepare the orders too. I’d recommend you to arrive earlier than 7:30pm and order a good amount first, instead of ordering it in small batches and waiting over 30 minutes for it.

Would come back again, just a pity i dont have the stomach for buffets. A good selection of ala carte dishes. For groups of 12 pax and above, we have our own private room, perfect for gatherings. The food is actually good for a $38++ buffet, would say its very worth it.

美味しかったよ! Surprising good stuff were the eggplant with miso, the special handroll, lime and bonito soup (in teapot) and apples for extra $5. The green tea ice cream was not worth the extra $.

As compared to other JAP buffet restaurants, this is considered one of the most value for money that can fix your sashimi craving. It's $45 including 10%service charge and 7% gst. Food is good, service is fast during weekdays and a bit longer during weekends. Dont forget to ask for complimentary dishes like the tea pot soup, salmon soup which are unique. Couldnt get the salmon soup on weekdays yet managed to enjoy it on weekends tho. Also rmb to make reservation on Fri-Sun unless u're willing to wait. The thing I love abt this restaurant is that their utensils are very cute, also no limited hours applied like others.

A craving for endless sashimi brought me to Ikoi on a weekday afternoon. Arrived around 1pm, half worried I might have to wait for a table after reading reviews about the restaurant being a constant full house. Thankfully, there were only a handful of diners and I easily snagged a good seat.
The other burpplers are spot on;you absolutely cannot go past the fried salmon skin temaki. The seaweed wrap-crisp! The julienned cucumber-crisp! The fried salmon skin-so very, very crisp! There's no better word to describe it. Enjoyed crunching on this temaki so much that I ordered it 4 times. Yes, even though I'd originally come for the sashimi.

When one serving of sashimi just isn't enough to sate your craving, head to this crowd favourite for one of the more affordable Japanese buffets along Havelock Road. Located within the grounds of Hotel Miramar, Ikoi Japanese Restaurant ($38 for both lunch and dinner) is fully booked most of the time, so be sure to make reservations early! Regardless of whether you're here for lunch or dinner, the spread and the price remains the same. The fresh, thick and chunky slices of salmon, yellowtail and swordfish sashimi may be the stars here, but don't neglect other offerings like yakitori, grilled salmon or mackerel, soba, udon and rice bowls. The salmon skin handroll is a must-order, as is their comforting, tummy-warming oden or zosui.
Avg Price: $45 per person

Only go for sashimi only buffet price is ok but selection still ok. Have private room or area if request

Late to the party, but definitely not missing out on this! Lunch & Dinner buffet at $38++ for adults, even on special days such as Mother's Day. What more, we managed to get additional complements, cause Mum's are the best.
