Peranakan Buffet at Sun's Cafe!

First time here! First impression is that the buffet line is not extensive.

My favourite item at this buffet was the Yam Rice, which comes with yam, mushrooms, sausages and some meat.

The have live cooking noodle stations - Mee Rubus and Nyonya Lemak Laksa. However, both were not to my liking.

For soup, there is cream of mushroom soup or pig stomach soup.

The exciting part of this buffet is you can make your own rojak here! (Tip: Go to the dessert station and get the pineapple cubes from the fruit table to add it into the rojak! Hehe, I did this, because I didn't really eat the other fruits at the rojak stations - apple, mango, starfruit, cucumber and pear.

While I am usually a HUGE fan of kueh pie tee here.. I ate one of their kueh piee tee and just stopped there. The cooked vegetable fillings had a funny taste to me.

You can also DIY your own ice kachang or iced chendol here, but taste wise, not fantastic

Overall quite an average buffet. However, there is an ongoing 1 for 1 promo now (original price is $60++ per pax for fri-sun lunch/dinner) if anyone wants to try it out for yourself.

Didn't had to use burpple as there were many 1f1 offer using credit card. Food tasted great, esp prawn, oyster, kuehs and Kueh pie ties. Laska was too thick for my liking. Only one main buffet line with a few side stations so the selection is limited for the price. Went on weekend lunch ($60), total bill came up to $71 for two pax

Peranakan Buffet at Sun's Cafe ,Hotel Grand Pacific πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜ŠLunch buffet consist alot of spread from fried kway tiao , fried nyoh hiang, sambal prawn , fried chicken wing and my favourite prawn cracker

Ayam buah keluak, beef rendang, chicken rendang and babi pongteh. I love how the babi pongteh taste so chewy and soft that melt in the mouth.

They even have pork maw with white peppercorn which has a strong pepperish taste very nice soup πŸ˜‹πŸ‘

I like their laksa , very nicely cook. With small prawn inside , the coconut taste can be abit more and will be dam shiok 🍜🀀

Their buffet is sastifying full and i tried all the dish hehe πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹overall was okie , worth the price for what i ate . Bought the fave coupon for $25 per person for lunch weekend buffet πŸ€€πŸ˜‹

One of the few items that's good here. I guess it lives up to the Peranakan theme.

I whacked as many as I could. This is so pricey elsewhere, here it's free-flow. I love kueh pie tee.

Except I picked a different noodle. It's more like an imitation, so don't raise your hopes. "Oysters" are those tiny, dried oysters.

Super cheap with promo. Don't expect anything at this price. After all, Peranakan food when dumbed down is just what Singaporeans eat all the time lol, like this ngoh hiang.

Kueh pie tees are usually expensive, like around $5 for 3? So during a buffet that has it, I'll spammm. Plus I can add more of my fav ingredients! πŸ˜‹ The selection at the peranakan buffet at Sun's cafe at Hotel Grand Pacific is quite limited but sufficient and it's quite cheap! Their nonya kuehs are especially good! :)))

At Sun's Cafe! Limited spread and food so so only.

The first time I've come across deep-fried fish skin at a buffet. Thought it would taste fishy but it's not. Crunchy and quite yummy dipped in sambal chilli + lime chinchalok mix. Yumms.

I like how small these servings are (single-serve soup bowls); frees up more stomach space to try other food in the buffet line :) The Mee Siam is really good, thick aromatic gravy, piping hot temperature. Laksa is good too - both recommended! The lady chef goes around chatting with every table too, unexpectedly friendly place :)

Bought a Groupon and came here with the family, decent spread - better than expected. This place is very popular with the aunties and older ladies! Tables of them around ;)

Bought a Groupon promo and came here with the family. The spread is better than expected, with some not-so-common dishes e.g. deep fried fish skin, gula malaka sago etc. Love the variety of chilli sauce (sambal chilli and tangy lime chinchalok) and keropok.

Not bad.
