I’m sure many would have watched the viral Food League video and be tempted to traverse the island for a dim sum & roast meat buffet - who can resist the incredible deal of eating food that would otherwise cost hundreds of dollars at $19.80++?? Needless to say, I was one of those haha and I was super excited to have a warm belly full of goodies. Unfortunately, I was sorely disappointed. The restaurant is poorly staffed and ill equipped to handle the volume of customers - they turned away those who had not made reservations, even though the place was eventually only 2/3 full. It took 25 min to be seated and to place our first order, and another 25 min for the first batch of food to arrive. I’m sure you can imagine how painfully slow it was when there were only 3 servers available to take orders, serve food and clear tables. What’s worse is that the spread of food is a mere fraction of what was shown in the video - half the dim sum options were not available because “they could not be prepared in time” (hence all we got were those 4 options shown in the picture), while the roast meats came cold and greasy on small serving plates. I ended up enjoying dishes like eefu noodles and 3 egg spinach the most.. which is really not what the restaurant should be known for. So all in all - a terrible experience at a restaurant that is misrepresented online. I should know better than to buy into such promotions, but I now know for certain that I won’t be making a trip back.
Searching for a chinese cuisine restaurant that features hongkong style roasted delights to celebrate the upcoming father’s day or just a simple gathering with your loved ones? Don’t say bojio, time to visit @heavenlyducksg , which is located at E!Avenue of Downtown East, conveniently just less than 10 mins walk from Pasir Ris MRT station!
Heavenly Duck’s Four Heavenly King Platter ($48++) is a dish that one must not miss when visiting the restaurant, the platter is filled with yummy roasted delights (char siew, siok bak, roasted duck & chicken). My personal favourite would be their roast pork and of course not forgetting their roast duck. The siok bak has a crispy skin and the inner layer was flavourful and tender, it has the best combination of lean meat & fats.
Apart from that @heavenlyducksg also serves many other yummy dishes such as their dimsum, e.g siew mai with tobiko.

Thank you @singaporefoodlisting for the invitation and @heavenlyducksg & @mypluslife for the warm hosting!
Tender duck meat makes it really decent! However, it falls pale in comparison with Dian Xiao Er’s as the herbal scent was lacking. Crispy skin was also not evident.
One good thing was that the duck wasn’t too fatty.
