I found myself unable to resist @newdelibakes alluring Triple Chocolate Swirl ($7.50) and of course I had to wash it down with a drink, and @hook_coffee just happened to have their Artbox exclusive Cloud Velvet ($10) as their Burpple Beyond deal.⠀

The Triple Chocolate Swirl reminded me of the sultana croissants Delifrance used to sell back in the day (Christ I’m old), but this was all chocolate goodness. It’s really just a swirly chocolate croissant, but way bigger and more chocolate-y. The dough had been infused with cocoa power before lamination, and the croissant/swirl is generously studded with semi sweet choc chips. Not sure where the third element in the ‘Triple Choc’ was, but I suspect it might’ve been chocolate spread between the swirls.⠀

The Triple Chocolate Swirl was every chocoholic’s wet dream, with a copious amount of cocoa in every bite. Even though the swirl was cold by the time I got to it, it was still flawlessly flaky on the outside and airy & slightly chewy inside.

Yeah, I can definitely see why people are always swirling around New Deli Bakes’ booth.
