Although I’m happy to hear that PUTIEN decided to preserve this heritage name, what I’m not sure is that whether they are doing it correctly.

Since PUTIEN taken over the name and reopened opposite the original stall in this cosy air-conditioned restaurant, many people has leave comments that wasn’t so positive about it.

Firstly, Sam Leong Street Chicken Rice stall has a long history serving affordable chicken rice in this area. But now PUTIEN making it into a fast food style of restaurant, I just don’t see it a good way to elevate the legacy of what it used to be.

The portion is really lacking for the price we are paying now, and even worst when they decided to use disposable cutlery. It totally brings down the appetite for many people, imagine you would keep tasting the paper as you eating the chicken and soup.

Thankfully the chicken rice itself still okay, but definitely not when you have to pay for such higher fare and of course you would expecting a much better delights.

The individual set I gotten already cost me past $10, which is consider much enough to fill my tummy. This individual set allows you to try both poached and roasted chicken at once, or you can just grab one with 2 portions. Accompanied by a side and soup. Drink is not included for this individual set unfortunately.

The soup also comes with pieces of herbs chicken and mushroom. And for side, I gotten the beancurd.

It was almost empty when I came on weekday dinner time, wondering whether they can survive long enough to preserve this legacy. I hope so if they can make those changes to suit what most people would want it to be.
