On Thursdays, @momstouch.sg peddle their premium burger, the self proclaimed Incredible Burger, for five bucks. Is it as incredible as it hypes itself up to be, or is it an incredible flop?⠀
⠀
As a fried chicken merchant, I was expecting better from Mom. Sure, the deep fried fillet is fresh, juicy & cocooned in a brilliant batter and competently cooked to poultry perfection, but it was frustratingly bland. In fact, most of the salt content came from the highly processed ham that had been neatly folded on top of the fried fillet.⠀
⠀
The overdone fried egg felt like a robotic attempt to try and justify the usual asking price of $7.90 per Incredible Burger. Its existence (or lack thereof) in the burger doesn’t really matter, but if they cooked the egg less & maintained a luscious, liquid yolk, it would’ve been stellar. The thousand island based sauce is the only lubricant in the burger, and while terrifically tangy & velvety, wasn’t quite enough to launch the burger into stardom.⠀
⠀
Well, it’s definitely an incredible deal to get this colossal chicken burger for five dollars flat, but this burger was also incredibly frustrating due to all its obviously unrealised & unfulfilled potential.⠀
