It is with great sadness when I read that Cheong Fan Paradise, a hawker stall opened by a former head dim sum chef at Shangri-La's Shang Palace, will be closing due to manpower issues. Having attained cult status withย its two to three hour-long queues during its peak, it has become one of my favourite chee cheong fun stalls. I dropped by for one last hurrah.ย
Silky smooth sheets made from rice flour drizzled in a scrumptious sweet-savoury sauce is what I've come to expectย from Cheong Fan Paradise. The chee cheong fun slid down my throat effortlessly and the fillings were stellar as well. The fresh and crunchy prawns in the ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ป ๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ฒ ๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ผ๐ป๐ด ๐๐๐ป ($4.50) and the meaty bits of char siew in the ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐ฟ ๐ฆ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ ๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ฒ ๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ผ๐ป๐ด ๐๐๐ป ($3.80) were exceptional.
