Had the Aburi Salmon Mentaiko Don ($11.90)- cubed salmon, tamago and cucumber topped with mentaiko, lightly torched and ebiko. I love Mentaiko so I naturally ordered this dish however when it came I felt that the portion of salmon seemed a little small and the mentaiko was too rich making the whole dish quite 'jelat'.
My friend had the Mixed Tendon ($15.80). Presentation of it was superb and it tasted better than my don. Batter was crisp and not oily. The spiciness of the sauce was quite mild and it tasted similar to 'tam tam crab flavoured snack' which I really like. My friend felt that the don was on the dry side and needed more sauce.
We got the option to make the don into a set where they serve chawamushi and miso soup. Chawamushi was fine but the soup was just bland.
Overall I would recommend getting the tendon.
