Truffle mushroom pizza and umami pasta 🥰 with the manuka coffee
Love their coffee still.
Lovely place at the Scotts !

Umami Pasta was our first choice after seeing all the reviews online. We were contemplating if we should get the Margarita Pizza because not many people tried it so we had doubts about it. But let me tell you, it is really good! The flavour of the tomatoes matches well with the orange cheese and according to my friend, it is better than what he had in Italy.🙊

Had amazing Truffle portobello mushroom pizza and Xo sambal prawn pasta here at The Coffee Academics! Very original pasta flavours with just the right amount of spice and intensity. This is a place which I'll definitely return!

Lunch date at Coffee Academics today! Soft Shell Crab Salted Egg Wafu Pasta ($23) was creamy without being too heavy on the palate. The Umami Pasta ($21) was topped by generous amounts of bonito flakes but was a tad too spicy for our liking. Overall a great meal in a convenient central location, especially with Beyond’s 1-for-1 deal 👌🏼

Al dente pasta cooked with shrimp, and topped with shio konbu and an onsen egg. It’s quite cute to watch the konbu flakes crinkling and moving about as the bowl sat on the table.

After giving it a good toss, the resultant bowl of pasta was seriously umami as it’s name suggests. If you don’t know what umami means, just take a bite of this pasta. I’d suggest sharing this dish with someone else, because it did start to get a bit salty after a few bites although it was delicious.

Modern, cosy cafe located at Scotts Square.

Went on a Monday afternoon and the cafe was fairly full. Recommend making a reservation so you can sit inside the cafe and not the tables outside.

Ordered Eggs Ben with guac ($22), Umami Pasta ($21) and Iced Jawa ($7). Eggs Ben with guac was badly done - the English muffin and eggs tasted stale. Th Umami Pasta on the other hand, was delicious. Highly recommend it if you like a little spice in your Pasta.

Iced Jawa was a nice cuppa coffee but lacked the taste of pandan and coconut. Total damage was ~$35. Relatively worth the money if you order the right stuff - would probably replace the Eggs Ben with pizza the next visit (it looked so good on the other table!)

Le Smoked Salmon ($23)
Umami Pasta ($21)
Crispy Fish Fillet Tacos ($23)
Pork Belly Salad ($15)

Came during one of the weekdays so the place is not too crowded. Nice ambience to chill and to catch up with friends. Food wise, fish fillet tacos and umami pasta r very good. Burpple 1for1 deal is available at this cafe too so it’s really worth it🙌🏼

Food: 8/10
Ambience: 7/10
Total Damage: $30/pax

Items ordered: Umami pasta ($21) & truffle portobello mushroom pizza ($24) - got these 2 mains at 1 for 1 price as I used beyondburpple!

Food: 5/5 - both the pasta & pizza were REALLY GOOD
Ambiance: 5/5 - comfortable & cozy
Service: 4/5 - long wait (40mins) during peak hours on a weekday afternoon but nonetheless worth it because food was good
Overall experience: 4.5/5
