Tiger Sugar Pearl Milk Tea

Everything in moderation. #tingzieeats #burpple

Considering the affordable price point of this Tiger Sugar Pearl Milk Tea of $2.80 in comparison other brown sugar drinks, this is surely a worthy contender. Unlike the usual fresh milk variants, I was initially worried that because milk tea already has a prominent taste of its own, the brown sugar sauce and boba wouldn't come off as strong - boy could I be more wrong! The brown sugar flavour is still prominent after mixing, contributing to an otherwise sweeter taste that manages not to feel like too much. The pearls are beautifully soft and chewy and jam-packed with much brown sugariness for me to enjoy fully! Definitely see myself returning for more next time! 😋

Seoi Gor uses milk tea instead of the usual fresh milk combination. It comes with nice and warm chewy pearls too. If only it could be a tad less sweet by reducing the sugar used in milk tea 》$2.80

Another drink to try would be 'Black and White' which has a malty combination of Horlick and Milo that cost $2.90.

Thanks @burpple for the invite and @seoigorcafe.sg for hosting.

Housed under a 3-in-1 group concept along with @wooriceboxsg and @gongyuansg by Royal T Group, @seoigorcafe.sg brings you a combination of local flavours through dishes like traditional kaya toast set ($4.80), prata curry set ($5.80), mee pok ($4.50) as well as familiar Hong Kong Cha Chaan Teng items such as original egg waffle ($2.30) and scrambled eggs thick toast ($3.80). Now who says you can’t find cheap eats at Orchard? My favourite of all was the original egg waffle. The exterior was really crispy and had a light buttery aroma, while each sphere-shaped egglet was fluffy on its own. Makes a good snack combination especially with their tiger sugar pearl milk tea ($2.80)! But it would have even been better if the sugar was reduced in the milk tea since the warm chewy pearls were already coated with brown sugar. Another interesting drink that might get you intrigued is the black and white ($2.90), a malty drink of ovaltine and horlicks. How nostalgic can this be.

Thank you @burpple for the invite and @seoigorcafe.sg for hosting!

The tiger sugar pearl milk tea ($2.80) had a very fragrant brown sugar flavour and the pearls were chewy too. Perhaps because the milk tea is sweetened, I felt that this was too sweet for my liking but it was still pretty good.

Here at Seoi Gor (⽔水哥) find different flavours of Singapore and Hong Kong with dishes ranging from iced milk tea, rice, noodles and traditional Hong Kong toast. My favourite is the Tiger Sugar Pearl Milk Tea (S$2.80) for its well balanced milk and tea ratio with chewy pearls, paired it with Scrambled Egg Thick Toast (S$3.80) for a wholesome breakfast. The scrambled eggs here are well done and slightly runny, served on thick toast which was crispy on the outside and fluffy, soft inside.
Sharing the same space, Woo Ricebox (悟饕池上飯 包) is known for its traditional Taiwanese railway bentos. We tried the signature Spicy Drumstick Bento and Salt & Pepper Popcorn Chicken Bento (S$8.90 each) — the bite sized chicken popcorn were juicy and flavourful, we just can’t stop at one piece! .
Next door, find Gong Yuan Ma La Tang (宫源麻辣烫) where we’re spoilt for choice of over 20 ingredients served in four types of slow-cooked broth – the signature spicy ma la, pork bone, preserved vegetables and the new tomato option. Pricing starts at S$2.68 per 100 grams for any ingredients compromising of seafood, meat and vegetables.
.
Located at the newly renovated Ochard Xchange (just above the Orchard MRT station), the concept store houses three brands – Seoi Gor (⽔水哥), Woo Ricebox (悟饕池上飯 包) and Gong Yuan Ma La Tang (宫源麻辣烫).

Very milky! Asked for less sweet which is perfect for me. Pearls are quite soft.
