Deep Fried Pork Intestine

Indeed, I’m back! My favourite China food store, the variety of awesome skewers and Chinese dishes are always a pleasure to come back to. The list of things to try are long; lamb, beef, chicken hearts & bacon enoki skewers, deep fried intestines and a lot more interesting dishes. It’s fun to experiment but ordering smart is important – the portions here are huge and not all items are hits (the fried rice is a little mushy).

These are my must-orders here. The 夫妻肺片is basically a “salad” of beef tongue, offal, peanuts, coriander — all tossed in an addictive sweet-spicy-tangy dressing. The crispy intestines are just too good with the fresh crunch of celery (pls be at least 3-4 ppl if not don’t order this). The spinach is just an excellent counterpoint to all the dishes with a complex aged vinegar dressing.

Then you have to try this one.
Large intestines, cleaned, then deep fried with dried chillies, Szechuan peppers, sesame seeds and sliced celery. The batter they’ve achieved for this dish is HIGHLY SATIS-FRYING! They’ve really thought through this crispy+chewy combination and it just keeps you reaching for more.

Side note: the whacky direct translated names of dishes in their menu will definitely be your dinner time entertainment.

Back again for their China-Chinese food! Skewers were as good but unfortunately, kinda felt that there were more misses than hits this time round. Had similar dishes as the first visit but the mala we had wasn’t as fragrant and well fried, while the fried intestines could be better cleaned and seasoned. Would say that the skewers would be a much safer bet!

The main reason to visit this shop was to get my hands on their skewers. With tons of options, we settled for bacon with enoki, mutton, pork, pig's intestine, squid and so on and on and on (basically, I lost track of what I ate that night lol). Well, I'm not sure whether they're lazy or not creative, but they all use the same sauce for the grilling, so all of them will have roughly similar taste. But my favourite would be the bacon with enoki!

Personally am a fan of pigs intestines so I was pretty excited to try this. However, we were slightly let down as the pig intestines had a pretty strong smell which could put many people off and made it hard to stomach. Flavour-wise, the mala spice and crispy batter was pretty good, although it all became overpowered by the strong smell of the intestines. This may be a hit and miss, since a friend who had eaten this before at this place said that it did not have such a strong odour the previous time.

I love inerts, always have always will. But for those of you who don't, the absence of any pungent off-smells and grittiness might make you reach out for this one. And probably not stop. Have to say, easily one of the best Fried Pork Intestines around.
If you're making your way here, please be equipped with mandarin speaking friends or be well versed with your body language! This place is run by and filled with mainland Chinese nationals. 'Excuse Me' wouldn't work (trust me, I've tried.) Also, that's dish number 9025 for your reference!

Add the fact that this was Deep Fried, Cleaned Properly (I assume & certainly hope so) Fried masterfully with Si Chuan Chili Peppers for that Fragrance & Numbing sensation which was Honestly Sublime along side Celery which acts as a palate cleanser. It burns so good until the next when one is on their Throne. 🤤

ACAMASEXPLAINS💮: For Thousands of years, the Chinese have been perfecting their local cuisine from individual provinces, what you get here is of that experience. 🀄️
Bear with the noise which is part of the beauty anyways, drink & talk to the people, which one actually finds joy through food. And that to me is just of the Beauty of Food. 干杯 🍻

We didn't get to try everything on their extensive menu, but this is THE dish to get. So crunchy and superbly seasoned, each bite in is just a burst of flavours! Both the texture and taste were so addictive, it had us swooping them all up in just a matter of minutes. If you're afraid of the strong porky smell like I do, these were nicely cleaned. So shiok, it's one of the best pork intestine dishes I've ever had (and the most number of intestines I've had in one sitting). Just in case you can't find it in their thick menu books, the dish number is 9025. I’ll definitely be back! #BurppleSGLateNight

This. This is how you should start or end a night. Chomping on these amazingly crispy, almost juicy deep fried pigs intestines from 好再来. 👅💦💦

Strongly seasoned and with a good kick of spice from the chilli, think this is one of my favourite intestine dishes evarrrr! 🙌
