Tok Kong Pot

$48.80 · 11 Reviews

Where? @jinhomia.sg, located in Alexandra Retail Centre (Labrador Park MRT). Although it’s written for 2, but I think it’s enough to feed 3 pax 🤣🤣🤣.
Beside tomato broth, you can also opt for fish, tom yum, cheese, or chicken broth. You can have it a-la carte as well.

Serving rice bowls by day and hotpot by night, the one that caught my eye was this Tok Kong Pot aka Superb ($48.80). Accompanied with juicy tiger prawns, fresh flower clams, roasted pork, abundance of vegetables (long cabbage, xiao bai cai, enoki mushroom etc) and instant noodles, was this colossal size Alaskan Crab 🦀 tempting us to devour it quickly. Four types of broth available, including their signature fish broth which is simmered for over 8 hours!

Featuring Tok Kong Pot with ALASKAN CRAB 🦀 , tiger prawns and flower clams. You can also choose your favourite broth. We had tomato broth and I like it much. Fit for sharing with 2 or more! Probably will become ho mia after eating this? .

Titled the Tok Kong Pot ($48.80) This comes with Alaskan Crab Legs, Flower Clams, Tiger prawns, crabsticks, roasted pork, mushrooms, eggs and instant noodles. You also get a choice of broths to pick from (we picked tomato). This was really (slighly luxurious) comfort food in a pot but maybe because we already stuffed our faces with the rice bowls priors, the said effect wasnt as compelling.

Thanks to @burpple for the invitation and jin ho mia for hosting!

“Jin Ho Mia” which means “a really good life” in Hokkien is sister restaurant to Soi Thai Soi Nice and Atmosphere Bistro.

It offers rice bowls in the day such as Tom Yum Pao Fan ($14.80), Salmon Poke Bowl ($14.80) and Sweet and Sour Chicken Bowl ($13.80) to cater to those seeking a fuss free lunch; and hot pots with a range of soup bases at night.

You can look forward to the Tok Kong Pot ($48.80), Ah Boy Pot ($33.80 – opening special price at $28.80), Giam Pui Pot.

Set in Alexandra Retail Centre, Jin Ho Mia serves up tasty grain bowls and hot pots. The rice bowls (available only for weekday lunch) are perfect for those working in the area but come sundown, the hotpots are great for unwinding over. Grain bowls offer classic combinations like Salmon Poke ($14.80) and Greens and Soba ($11.80), or try the unique Pao Fan ($14.80), which drenches the bowl in a tasty tom yum broth. Come dinner time, hotpot is the way to go. There are five different broths including tom yum, tomato and their signature fish broth, and all form a delicious base to cook the ingredients in. The Tok Kong Pot ($48.80) is a guaranteed crowd pleaser packed with decadent ingredients like Alaskan king crabs, tiger prawns and flower clam. The Ah Boy Pot ($33.80) is great if you like the ingredients meaty, while the Giam Pui Pot ($28.80) has an abundance of greens to nourish the health-conscious.
Avg Price: $15 per person
