Thank you @bemyguestcafe for the complimentary cream puff!

Green Curry Seafood Pasta ($13.80) - This was made up of linguine, mussels, small prawns, clams and squid. It was a spicy pasta dish, and the green curry was creamy and fragrant. This was my favorite dish here.
Lion Prawn Mala Mee Kia ($13.80) - This was made up of capellini and tiger prawns sauteed with garlic, chilli padi, Sichuan pepper and prawn roe. It was a spicy pasta dish as well, the prawn flavors were very distinct. Wolfberry & Osmanthus cheesecake ($4.80) - The top layer of wolfberry & osmanthus had a tinge of bitterness which brought a refreshing taste to the cheesecake. Felt that this was a very clever combination. When you order the pasta, just top up $4 for a drink and cake/tart, which I find is more worth it. Definitely an affordable cafe with tasty food items!

Great plating. Very generous serving of prawns. Super flavorful prawns! Surpise twist of Mala flavor with western pasta.

Awesome food and pricing! Below $20 for a main, drink and dessert! Remember to bring cash along!

Helping put industrial Tai Seng onto foodie radars is this cosy cafe at The Commerze @ Irving. The food here isn't fancy, but there is a homely charm to the place, and the food is hearty and affordable. Savoury plates include the Chilli Crabby Pasta ($14.80), slicked in chilli crab sauce and served with crispy soft shell crab; the generously portioned Chicken Confit Lost a Leg ($13.80) with mash, a sunny side up and salad, and the Lion Prawn Mala Mee Kia ($13.80) that sees capellini and tiger prawns tossed with chilli padi, Szechuan pepper and prawn roe — tasty, but not kid-friendly! Consider sharing the starter of Homemade Western Style Pork Belly ($7.50) with tender meat and crispy crackling. They also offer some pretty interesting bakes like the Wolfberry & Osmanthus Cheesecake ($4.80), where the humble cheesecake is enlivened with a floral jelly topping. There are hits and misses food-wise, but we are confident they will soon settle into their groove. Pro tip: Visit for lunch and add on $4 for their lunch set, which gets you a soft drink and a cake or tart with your order.
Avg Price: $20 per person

Despite it probably being quite a while since the prawns left their home, the nicely slick capellini smelled irresistible from its prawn perfume, and the mala seeds provided a snackish, wicked crunch. 3.8/5
