✨ Pandan flavoured hotcake embedded with salted coconut ricotta creme, topped with Pandan coconut gelato, sprinkled with toasted coconut flakes and served with a side of gula melaka sauce. A deconstructed and revamped version of the Peranakan kueh that we are all familiar with, the hotcake was soft, fluffy with a slightly crisp surface layer that carries off a lingering aromatic pandan essence and fragrance. The texture was done to an ideal perfection- soft, light and sufficiently moist 💖. Unfortunately the salted ricotta creme got outshone by the distinct Pandan essence, harbouring a negligible effect to the overall flavour unless you were to consume it in silo. The colour of the Pandan coconut gelato got me turned off initially with an artificial shade of neon green but fortunately the taste did not disappoint, a pleasant sweetness of coconut that was also refreshing though the texture could have been better if it was smoother and less icy. The toasted coconut flakes added a crisp, fibrous mouthfeel to the hotcake, a complimentary and perfect pairing to the hotcake, where the resemblance to ondeh ondeh kicks in. Unfortunately, this would not be available anymore, with the cease of operations at @artistrycafesg 👋🏻

The main highlight here was the hotcake after all, with a soft, fluffy and sufficiently moist texture, coupled with slightly crisp edges and top surface layer. I could even have it in silo without the addition of the earl grey infused maple syrup that tasted rather odd, lacking characteristic fragrance of earl grey and had a peculiar artificial sweetness which I wasn’t a fan of. The salted caramel ice cream was smooth, creamy and milky but lacked the characteristic saltiness and was akin to a normal milk ice cream. The assorted berries were berry sour indeed, adding a tangy note to the other sweet elements. I would say, just the charcoal hotcake is suffice to keep my palate and sweet tooth cravings satisfied 😌. .

Arguably better than its predecessor, the ondeh ondeh hotcake. Crispy, cookie like edges, taste was incredible. Ice cream was not too frozen. 4.75/5
It’s rich in coconut and it goes pleasantly well with the pandan hotcake, coconut flakes, Gula Melaka sauce and light coconut ricotta cream 💚💚💚 Halloumi & Eggs was awesome as every ingredient on the dish not only compliments harmoniously with each other but it’s also good individually as they were thoroughly seasoned👍🏻 Overall, I’m impressed @artistrycafesg!

Ondehondeh hotcake (15)-i dont recall eating ondehondeh in my life, hence why i cant compare this with the actual ondehondeh, but i have a thing for hotcakes/pancakes. Took faster than your usual hotcake, but is delicious. Has a crust, quite fluffy and has that locsl flavor to it. The ice cream was a bit dissapointing though, it still has those icy flakes in it. 4.5/5
A twist on the popular Artistry BRB Hotcake, this local fusion take had potential but we thought it kinda needed a few tweaks. The warm pandan hotcake was done well with slight crisps all around, topped with a big scoop of pandan coconut gelato, gula melaka syrup, toasted coconut and coconut ricotta creme. Thought the pandan flavours didn’t come out as strong as we hoped for and perhaps, a more generous drizzle of gula melaka can help to bring it together better. My vote still goes to the BRB Hotcake!

Tasted this plate of aesthetically plated Ondeh Ondeh Hotcake ($15), its perfectly round topped with pandan coconut ice cream! With a sort of old style bakery with extremely fluffly and flavourful ondeh ondeh and pandan hint!

The hidden gulua melaka syrup below the hotcake and the sprinkle of coconut flakes enhanced the overall presentation and most importantly, its taste! Would definitely come back for this!
This is the bomb! You could easily tell the high level of effort and thought put into the creation of this dish as the flavors blended so perfectly with one another 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
