Coconut Blancmange

$12.00 · 12 Reviews

- The Spanish Octopus is so delicious and so chewy. We have never eaten such a giant octopus feet before.
- Iberian pork secreto is juicy, crispy and tender. Highly recommended!! Awesome!!!
- Braised Beef Short Rib is well cooked. You won’t have a hard time cutting it!!
- We had not-your-usual tiramisu and strawberry & basil panna cotta for dessert, which felt quite light and you won’t feel sinful eating it😋

Planning an upcoming birthday treat? Then you wouldn't want to miss out on the 3-Course Set, which includes an appetiser, main and dessert (all of choice). Start with the fresh Charred Prawns ($16), followed by the stunning Braised Beef Short Rib ($28), before finishing off with the aromatic Strawberry and Basil Panna Cotta ($12).

Strawberry & Basil Panna Cotta ($12)
.
Basil panna cotta served with a tangy strawberry compote and some crumble for texture @portasg . Simple ingredients taken to a new level with the addition of basil to the panna cotta giving it an aromatic experience.

Coconut Blancmange ($12++)

The creamy coconut Panna Cotta was quite divine-- & the passionfruit on top gave it a good sour/tart kick. Indifferent towards the crumbles on top. Overall, pleasantly surprised with this dessert, though I would still prefer the Valrhona Chocolate (if shared) as a dessert.

Located on the ground floor of Park Hotel Clarke Quay, Porta boasts a cosy laidback vibe with debonair colonial influences — ideal for a business meeting over lunch. Go for their value-for-money two-course ($18) and three-course ($22) set lunches which are straightforward and come in good portions. There are two to three options for every course, of which our Burpple community recommends the chilled angel hair pasta to start. Burppler Wuu Yyiizzhhoouu describes the dish as "surprisingly simple and delightful with a strong truffle aroma". Get the haddock fillet as your main — the latter comes priced at $26 as an a la carte dinner item, so this is a steal! You must end the meal with the refreshing coconut blancmange ($12) which features smooth, creamy coconut custard topped with tangy passionfruit coulis.

I strongly recommend the weekday lunch menu here which is priced affordably, with a 2 course option available at $18++.
🔸
This should please coconut lovers like me, because the coconut custard was smooth and creamy, and topped with crumbles for added texture. If would don't mind desserts with acidity, then the passionfruit coulis would be provide a nice contrast in taste to the creamy custard.

A really simple but classy decor welcomed us as we prepared to have our lives transformed :))) the meal was incredible from start to finish!!

appetizer:
Salmon trout(Part Of Set Lunch) first time I enjoyed salad lol all the elements were tasty on their own and really worked tgt
Spanish octopus(18++) highlight of the meal with the octopus done perfectly. Right balance of chewiness and tenderness as well as a distinctive smokey aroma. Patatas bravas were crispy and the accompanying spicy sauce resembling rendang really spiced up the octopus
Chilled angel hair pasta(POSL): surprisingly simple and delightful with very strong truffle aroma

Mains:
Haddock fillet(POSL) Fish was done without fuss and flaky while the olive oil complemented it perfectly
Ravioles(POSL) The cheesy tomato soup was easy to slurp down and the ravioles was decent
Iberico pork secreto(26++): extremely well marbled piece of glorious pork with a fantastic glaze that leaves u wanting for more despite the fats. Could have been rendered more tho as it the fats were more chewy than tender

Dessert
Coconut blancmange(POSL) others burpplers said enough about this lol just get it don't ask questions. Also they might have adjusted the recipe as previous burpplers complained about the toughness of the almond crumble but I didn't have a problem with it today it's almost soft
Chocolate valrhona(14++) absolutely delicious with gooey melted chocolate centre and the real vanilla used in the ice cream is evident. I might like this even more than the coconut blancmange lol(that was slightly sour because of the passion fruit coulis)

Overall a really enjoyable birthday lunch with excellent food and service. Service staff was really attentive (maybe because there wasn't a crowd) and they were really friendly as well

The custard is topped with passion fruit coulis for an acidity balance as well as giving it an extra texture.

Exuding old-world charm with its intricate details and charming decor, this new European restaurant within Park Hotel Clarke Quay is the perfect place for your next business meeting. Those working in the vicinity should pop by for lunch (it's prettier in the day anyway!) and take advantage of their value-for-money two-course ($18) and three-course ($22) set lunches. Portions run big, so it's best for small eaters to get one two-course and one three-course so that you can share the dessert — that way you and your business partner will be leaving satisfied. There are two to three options for each course, of which the clear standouts are the velvety smooth Butternut Velouté and the more wallet-friendly option of the Haddock Fillet, which is priced at $26 as an a la carte item on the dinner menu. End the meal with the Coconut Blancmange ($12) that features smooth, creamy coconut custard topped with tangy passionfruit coulis.

Definitely the dish of the night! I enjoyed how tender this was, along with the potatoes and very tasty sauce. I also liked the Butternut ($12) soup dotted with crunchy pumpkin seeds and finished with creme fraiche, so flavorful and comforting, but perhaps too much for one. The Coconut Blancmange ($12) was the perfect ending - tangy Passionfruit coulis on a coconut custard. While I enjoyed my meal at Porta, none of the mains stood out in particular for me. The Haddock Fillet was done with the classic combo of capers and fennel, which tasted good but a touch too pricey at ($26). Pro tip: you get it in the set lunch! The space is very pretty, probably nicer in the day time too. They have a very value for money set lunch at just $18 for 2 courses or $22 for 3!
