Chicken Sushi

$4.90 ยท 6 Reviews

Chicken Sushi ($4.90) was the first time I ever heard of chicken rice sushi. A slice of Roost's signature soya sauce chicken rests on a neatly moulded base of chicken rice and garlic bits, glazed with teriyaki sauce. Pop one in and it tastes just like chicken rice. The garnish of fried ginger, shallots, and spring onions pleasantly lifts the flavour.

Have a marvellous Monday dears ๐Ÿ’‹

Chicken Sushi (SGD$4.90), which with tender slices of soya chicken meat on rectangles of chicken rice and garnished with spring onion and glazed with a small dash of teriyaki sauce. The chicken rice sushi was delicious with strong, sure flavours of a good chicken rice dish. It was a pretty refreshing way of eating a traditional local favorite.

Good old chicken rice, along with some local classics, are given a creative twist at this spacious Centrepoint eatery โ€” perfect for a casual lunch. You could play it safe and get the Yin Yang Chicken Rice ($8.90), which serves both poached and soya sauce chicken with rice, but the main draws here are the reinterpretations of chicken rice. Try the Chicken Sushi ($4.90) and Crispy Chicken Rice Balls ($4.90) for something bite-sized and tasty, or go for the Chicken Laksa ($7.90), which comes with a side of tender poached chicken. For dessert, try the Durian Creme Brรปlรฉe ($5.90) and Nanyang Coffee Panna Cotta ($5.90).

Chicken Sushi ($4.90)

Roost's signature chicken sushi fuses japanese with our most well-loved dish. Here, thinly sliced soya Chicken is neatly placed on chicken rice and garnished with fried shallots. A really pretty dish but didn't deliver the same expectations in terms of taste.

Intriguing items available here include the Chicken Chawanmushi (which tastes like chawanmushi that tripped and fell into a pool of chicken rice soup) and Chicken Sushi. Apart from the odd flashes of intrigue the rest of the menu looks straightforward and ordinary, but the quality surprises.

From ROOST, a Hainanese Chicken centric restaurant that just recently opened its doors at The Centrepoint which prides itself over the use of the Singapore-made iKook machine which automates the cooking process of the Hainanese Chicken served here.

Infusing local flavours into the form of a sushi, these came in a portion of 4 per serving and were pretty fun to have. The rice held up relatively well considering it was the rice from chicken rice, while drizzled with soy sauce for flavour just like how a Unagi Nigri would. The slice of chicken came pretty thinly like how a Unagi Nigri is being served. Overall a pretty interesting way of serving bite-sized version of Chicken Rice.
