Crispy Chicken Rice Balls

$4.90 ยท 8 Reviews

@roostcafe Crispy Chicken Rice Balls ($4.90) usually sells out before dinner. Deep-fried bread crumbs encase a mashed rice and chicken stuffing that's flavoured with chicken stock. Its crunchy and light batter is a delightful contrast to its soft insides that aren't too dry. Dip these morsels into their house-made chilli sauce to highlight it with a spicy and sour tinge.

You see what you get. Just fried chicken rice ball. Don't have much surprise factor but it is something interested.

Interesting concept of chicken dishes done all ways. Of course it's pricier than hawker centers (but still pretty affordable with most dishes

Flavour was a little bland for this appetizer, but dipping into their homemade chilli dip helped.

A great example would of their Crispy Chicken Rice Balls ($4.90), your usual chicken rice balls but panko crusted and deep fried. Love the fragrant chicken rice used that can go well with or without the sauce (can't really decipher what it is but it's strangely similar to thousand island). Was more attractive to their sharing plates than their mains for things like their Chicken Sushi ($4.90, in the background) or their Chicken Chawanmushi ($4.90, not pictured).

@roost.singapore came up with this brilliant idea of putting thinly sliced chicken on top of rice. The taste is comparable to those chicken rice balls in Melacca, or even better! Tasty in every single bite, you should try it.
And by the way, their chickens are cooked by using an automated poultry cooking machine made in Singapore. How cool is that? ๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ”

Thanks @roost.singapore for having us.

These crispy morsels of chicken rice were appetising โ€” chicken rice balls are heard of but fried ones definitely does not seem familiar to me. Sink your teeth into the crisply fried balls and the insides reveal tightly packed chicken rice that carries a light hint of ginger and chicken stock aroma. The curry mayo on the side was more mayo with curry powder added into it, but it still carries curry flavour when one dip 'em balls with it. Yet another interesting dish available at ROOST.
