RTB Sandwich

RM10.00 · 4 Reviews

Drop by this neighbourhood cafe in Shah Alam for a variety of grilled cheese sandwiches. Treat yourself to a plate of Grilled Cheese with Beef Bacon (RM12) that sees hot and gooey parmesan and mozzarella melted between two slices of housemade sourdough. For a meat-free option, give the Grilled Cheese with Caramelised Onions and Mushroom (RM15) a shot. Take home a loaf of their freshly baked Sourdough (RM8) if you yearn for more of their crusty bread!

Worth the long drive to Shah Alam! I believe a good plate of grilled cheese all comes down to the quality of the bread used and I love that they bake their sourdough fresh daily. The sandwich was hot and cheese (Parmesan and mozzarella) was melty. Definitely a dream spot for grilled cheese lovers!

Run along to this plain-in-sight locale in industrial Shah Alam and share the joy of a RM10 lunch with a colleague. While simple, Commoner's Space makes food from the heart — we're sure you'll be able to tell from the RTB Sandwich (RM10). The uber-crispy housemade sourdough bread is slabbed with mustard mayo, beef bacon and gooey cheese for a delish grilled cheese sandwich. The cafe also prides itself on their specialty Kombucha (RM5), a sweetened, fermented black tea. Known to aid digestion, it's a soothing after-meal drink that's also super refreshing! Also look out for the daily rotation of their home bakes, as young owner Syed Asyraf has a penchant for quaint bakes like an Earl Grey Cheesecake (RM9).

Disappointed that Commoners Space didn't have cake for me (apparently someone came in and bought the whole cake) but was comforted by the value for money RTB Sandwich (RM10). One of the better grilled cheeses I've had, plus sourdough's house-made! Come also for the Kombucha (RM5), a unique tea drink fermented over 8-15 days for a slightly acidic yet refreshing taste.
