They do their Magikarp (I meant fishes) really well - both Fried and grilled ($6.90) were well received. The Classic Fish and Fries ($7.99) even came with Chili Crab sauce and 2 sides (choose from 7 kinds). Other interesting choice - 'Chaota' Fish & Fries or anything with Grilled Swiss Raclette Cheese ๐ป
Located within the same coffeeshop as Royal J's Seafood and Hong Kong 88 Roast Meat Specialist, The Western Co serves grilled or fried fish and chicken with tasty sides. It's essentially a watered-down, more localised version of the Astons chain, with even more pocket-friendly prices. Come with a group of friends to share the Raclette Cheese Fries ($6.50). That oozy, gooey landslide of melted cheese on golden frites shouldn't be missed, so get your phones ready and snap away! You must order the "Chaota" Fish and Fries with Salted Yolk sauce ($7.90) โ a large slab of blackened fried fish that reveals a surprisingly moist and well-cooked fillet โ and we recommend the homemade potato salad and the grilled sweet corn on the side. The salted egg yolk sauce that comes with your fish is refillable (!) so make the most out of it and slather it onto the corn kernels to kick it up a notch!
Avg price: $10 per person

Enjoyed the fish & chips. Batter remained crispy even after quite a while and fish was fresh! Comes with chilli crab sauce and salted egg yolk sauce which was served separately. Very thoughtful! Also had the raclette cheese fries which came with too little cheese (isn't that always the case). But dip it into the free flow salted egg yolk sauce and all is good. You can also get a large pot of fried porridge or roast meat platter to share, all from the same coffeeshop!
