Afew new places sprouted out and I finally had time to "explore" the tranquil neighbourhood.

1st stop is a relatively new Peranakan cafe along East Coast Road. Small place with nonyaish decor. An early lunch of assam laksa. A legit nonya dish. Tangy, alittle sweet and the superb assam flavors that tickled the palate. Garnished with small pieces of fried mackerel, cucumber slivers and onions. So tasty, so refreshing, so appetising and the broth was sourish but not overpowering.

This was one of the better, if not the best, assam laksa I have tasted. I really could not get enough of it. Just wanted more and more. So totally addictive. Only $8.90. Will definitely be back for more since it is just in my backyard😄

Assam laksa with a super rich broth of kembong fish stock, tamarind, shallots, galangal, belachan, lemongrass, rojak flower, pineapples, cucumbers, prawn paste... my favourite from the tok panjang feast yesterday!! Folks who love Peranakan food, don't miss out on this new opening on the east coast road.
