Let’s say this, I love truffle! It’s really delicious. The flavour is not overpowering.

This is good too! Even though it’s just basic good old pasta sauce with minced beef poured over it.

Bottom: salted egg yolk fries πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ

Whoa! The first bite was so salty! If you continue eating this without sharing, I assure you can’t have your main dish afterwards. It is too overwhelming for the taste buds.

Fun fact: No GST and service charge.
This cafe is hidden in the neighbourhood of Hougang.

First time here but feels nostalgic as this used to be wifey's ex home just a few metres away. Little gem in the middle of an old housing estate. Ordered the SEY Croissant Raclette and Salted Egg Yolk Fries. Both tasted amazing! If u think that the SEY is too little, fret not.. The yolk will flood your plate in a matter of secs. The fries.. Best fries ever! Its like eating a cross between Salted Egg and Cereal Prawn.. Only this time.. Its fries. Would love to come back to try the other dishes.

Reputed to be the home of the first salted egg croissants in Singapore, Flavour Flings is a halal-cafe that serves a good variety of all-day breakfast and other dishes with "eggs" as their common centrepiece. Boyfie tried the Machamps Breakfast, I had the regular Eggs Benedict and we shared their signature Salted Egg Fries. The food did not disappoint and made the dining experience really pleasant amidst the simple and cosy decor and ambience.

🍟 Shoe string fries blanketed over with home made salted egg sauce, buttered cereal and spring onions. Pretty addictive.

The sauce had the same texture and viscosity of egg yolk and was salty; didn't really taste like "salted egg", but more like "egg yolk" that was "salted". The cereal topping was a nice addition though, creating a ying-yang effect of sweet and salty flavours in the dish. Enjoyed it thoroughly, but the sauce got a bit too thick and gelat at the end, reminding me of the amount of cholesterol I was consuming.

P.S. If this same savory sauce is used inside the crossaint, I would give it a miss.

Hearty (portion): 3.5/5
Tasty (product): 4/5
Worthy (price): 3.5/5

Unbelievably creamy and delicious. It's like Zhi Char concept infused into the western culinary culture. Fries with salted egg yolk sauce with cereals and minced curry leaves is definitely a power punga!
