Constantly thinking about this mad delicious Slow Cooked Pork Soft Bone ($14.50) that I had previously at @dailyaffairscafe. Essentially a rice dish, it comes with pickled radish, chives and onsen egg with a side of mustard.

The glistening pork comes in relatively sizeable portions and is really tender, and free from any porky stench or gaminess all thanks to the slow cooking process, featuring mouth-watering properties such as melt-in-your-mouth fat and gelatinous soft bones that go easy on the teeth. The rice is blanketed beneath the pork, absorbing some flavour from the sauce of the meat, while the pickled radish works out to give a refreshing bite and cleanse the palate. Along with the 'Orh Lu Lu' pasta, I'd gladly return for this in future. 😋

This is part of a tasting at @dailyaffairscafe.

The Asian Style "Orh Lu Lu" Pasta ($14) is my personal standout dish, incorporating jjajangmyeon flavours into the linguine, which explains the brown colouring and slight saltiness of the noodles, while using a Japanese-inspired breaded pork cutlet that is topped with mayonnaise, along with a soft boiled egg and chopped vegetables. The cutlet is deep fried to a gorgeous golden brown; the meat is succulent and juicy, just the way I love my pork! 😋 It pairs really nicely with the pasta which has just the right amount of saltiness to me, while the egg - when mixed into the pasta - adds a layer of silkiness to the noodles.

💖 Resembling the Asian style 炸酱面 (black bean sauce noodles), the linguine is tossed in a similar sauce, garnished with fried shallots, spring onions and served alongside with deep fried pork belly and a sous vide egg. Though I am personally not a fan of pork belly, I was glad that this came with a minimal layer of fats and did not possess any gamey aftertaste. The panko-crusted batter was deep fried to an ideal crisp texture, topped with tangy and creamy tartar sauce for an added flavour. Would be great if there’s a more balanced ratio of batter:meat though, as the interior of pork belly was much thinner and less significant as compared to the thicker layer of batter. Imo the overall highlight and winning factor here is still the pasta that’s flavourful with a wokhei-alike flavour albeit leaning towards a sweeter flavour profile, coupled with a perfectly poached sous vide egg that added a dimension of texture and flavour as well .

Thanks @dailyaffairscafe for solving my daily affairs (aka. dilemma) in deciding between an Asian or Western cuisine with fusion food that greatly satisfied my palate! 😋 Thanks @melmeleats for extending the invitation too🙆🏻‍♀️ .

The portion can share for 2 persons.
Prawn,Salmon, Soft shell Crab and Clam serve with salad and French fries.

My favourite will be the soft shell crab. It’s crispy outside and well seasoning.

The food is delicious. This one is meat with rice. Even the nearby hawker centre cost almost like this now.

We rate this 7.5/10. Cheaper carpark opposite at Newton.
