I unfortunately did not think much of the Yakitori Don. While at face value, this don seems to have everything it needs, it was lacklustre in terms of both quality flavour. The rice and vegetables are everything you’d expect, but the supposed star of the dish, the yakitori, was just oddly very sweet sweet, and lacking in other profiles. I understand that Connect71 is a student-run cafe, and I absolutely love the intention behind it, the service, and the vibe. However, the yakitori don is not something I would come back for. Nonetheless, I do not disregard the fact that the other food might fare better in terms of quality, and I would still return to try them, simply because it’s a good place to hangout with friends!

Personally thought it was pretty diluted, lacking in both matcha and espresso flavour. While lacking in any substantial flavour, it still did its job of giving the caffeine kick.

My go-to study cafe in NTU. Love the vibes (music, spaciousness, aesthetics) and the food there! Plus point is that the food/drinks are really affordable too. For every main ordered, there’s a $1 off beverage discount and a 10% off each main for NTU staff/student. My all-time fav choice of coffee would be the toffeenut latte because of its unique taste and just-right sweetness level. The food is also nice and my top pick would be the gyudon or yakitori don. General rating: 8.5/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Gyudon ($9) Yakitori Don ($8)
Came around 7 and snagged the last 2 bowls of dons for the night, so for those who wanna try connect71 make sure you don’t come too late! The portions were reasonable! The beef was cooked well and the yakitori sauce had us licking our lips for more. The onsen egg was delightfully jiggly and made the dining exp much more pleasant and insta worthy 🤤

Ice Choco ($4.50), Iced Matcha ($4.50)
Bring a student run cafe, we think that the drinks were pretty decent though probably lacking any deep flavors for both drinks. If we were to come again we’d say give the iced choco a pass, or maybe try the hot version as we felt the iced one was quite dilute and sugary.

Both were around $6 each, worth with the burpple 1-1! The matcha-spresso had a complementary blend of matcha and espresso, pretty nice if you love matcha but also need coffee :p Initially assumed the biscoff latte would be really sweet, but I was pleasantly surprised as the biscoff flavour was more subtle than I had expected. The space also has a chill ambience and it’s a nice place to hangout / catch up on some work! :)
