Whatā€™s your favourite sashimi? Mine is swordfish.

Unfortunately for me, there is no swordfish in there šŸ˜‚ Still a decent bowl of chirashi though. Chikuwateiā€™s chirashi includes yellowtail, unagi, sweet prawn, tuna, scallop, salmon, ikura, tobiko & tamago.

Despite being around for awhile and one of the chirashi found in many listicles, it took me until now to finally give this a try.

I actually went to Manzoku first, which is also under The Yoi Group but they seem to be temporarily closed due to COVID-19 and the notice on the shop front redirected me to Chikuwai Tei. So donā€™t make the same mistake I do šŸ˜„

Chirashi Kou Set $35++

The makis here are pretty huge per piece and delicious too. Perfect aburi salmon w mentai mayo with generous chunks of crispy soft-shell crab. The rainbow maki paled in comparison, just order this!

This place might be famous for their chirashi but their unagi is equally good! Donā€™t give this a miss if youā€™re a fan of unagi.

Do not belittle this seemingly ā€œsmallā€ bowl of chirashi don the slices were so THICK. Definitely satisfied my all my sashimi cravings.

Had the Chirashi Kou ($35) which contained a huge dollop of ikura and 2 slices each of salmon, amaebi (sweet prawn), scallops, swordfish, unagi, tamago AND my fave chutoro (medium fatty tuna)! Savoured every fresh slice. Chikuwa Tei also offers a pretty good selection of drinks - try the umeshu or the cocktail Yuzu 75!

Still one of the best value chirashidons in Singapore. Fresh, thick sliced fish and ikura on Japanese rice, and the bowl comes with watermelon and miso soup too. Great service and we would recommend the takoyaki as well!
