This might sound a little unexpected, but the highlight of our dinner at this popular hot pot place? The desserts! We’re completely obsessed with these golden, crispy sesame balls freshly fried to perfection [upon order], filled with the dreamiest sweet peanut 🥜 filling and made even better with a dip in creamy condensed milk. Pure. Dessert. Bliss. ❤️

Very pleasantly surprised to see that this hot pot restaurant in my hood offered 1-for-1 deals on Burpple! Opted for the 1-for-1 set for dinner with my family (4 pax), and we had the option to choose other sets to make up the 2nd set. Each set comes with the choice of 1 soup, vegetable platter, choice of carbs. Here’s what we ordered:

• Wagyu Ribeye Set
• Pork Belly Set
• Chicken slices (half portion)
• Wagyu Ribeye (half portion)
• USA Short Rib (half portion)
• Pork Belly (half portion)
• Quail eggs
• Lemon water chestnut
Soup bases: Chicken Mushroom, Fish Soup with Milk

The meats are served shabu shabu style, which are quite thinly sliced and cooks fast in the soup. All the meats that we had are very tender and good! There is a free flow sauce bar with a variety of condiments, side dishes and fruits to pair with your hotpot experience. Both soups that we ordered were very flavourful and we enjoyed the hot pot experience very much!

Our total bill came up to be ~$122 so I wouldn’t say that the Burpple deal made it very affordable. But for the experience, I would recommend giving it a try!

A simple and heartwarming bowl of glutinous rice balls dessert soup on this winter solstice to symbolise family reunion that coincides with my dad’s birthday. And there’s nothing more important than embracing my family on this special day.

difficult to get staff's attention
wide variety of sauces and condiments but not constantly topped up
soup base is not very flavourful

Was craving some prawn soup so decided to come here because I love the prawn soup here.

Portion seems to have gotten smaller from my previous times here but the menu was revamped.
Has a sauce bar too. Will come again.

Went to City Hot Pot at SengKang Grand Mall on November 4, 2023. The staff informed me that they no longer offer the Burple 1-for-1 deal. The 1-for-1 offer is now exclusively available when you sign up for their in-house membership program.

honestly when it comes to hotpot, premium meat can’t really be differentiated but I do find the meat cuts slightly bigger than the usual (cheaper) beef set.

I usually go for the prawn soup (comes with one prawn) for the soup base which I do recommend.
I also got the ramen noodles which goes well with the soup at the end.

The set has a wide variety of ingredients so it’s my go to when I want hotpot with more ingredients!!
Always very full when I finish my portion.

City pot serves affordable hot pot sets that come in both individual and sharing pots. Went for the super value set meal that was enough for 2 pax. And because I was craving for something comforting and spicy so I went for their laksa broth. While expectedly the laksa broth is not as good as what you’d get in hawker centres, I thought that how the laksa broth was done for the purposes of a steamboat was decently right. The texture was on the thinner side while still slightly creamy with a bit of spice. If you don’t think it’s spicy enough, you can add chilli from the condiments section for the added punch. A good option for people who like to have their own mini pots, while still sharing a platter of meat for your friends!
