Boat Noodle (Publika)

My kind of tea time food. Soft and fluffy steamed white bread that is as light as air paired with sweet aromatic coconut jam. Dipping your bread into the Kaya and seeing it soaks up the jam before eating it are the little pleasures in my life.

This taste exactly like the one I had in the streets of Bangkok; 100% same same!! It's consistency is thicker than your regular Matcha Latte and I love how it coats the back your tongue, creating a lingering milky taste after drinking it. RM8

Screw the noodles, eat everything but the boat noodles.

Who goes to Boat Noodle to get buns with kaya? You could easily get that in kopitiams, right?

Wrong. Well, true, but the ones in Boat Noodle is actually pretty good! On this magical day, I went to Boat Noodle Publika for lunch, then to Jaya One for dinner. Yes, both times I had these buns. No, I am not regretting my decision. I really enjoyed it.

The buns were steamed, so they were really soft. They had a bowl in the middle with milk and pandan kaya, and you're supposed to dip your buns into that. Here's a tip, reach for the kaya! If not your bun would just end up soggy and boring.

Note: I realised I prefer the Publika outlet more than the Jaya One outlet, taste wise. Service wise, Publika is actually really bad.
