The kiwi has an excellent texture, almost slightly crunchy. The sourness is not too strong, and wtv sourness there is is nicely balanced out by the sweetness of the white bean paste
Another winner. I gave this as a gift to a newly made Japanese friend and she didn't share w the rest of her crew, despite it being a whole fruit lol
Their reviews are mixed, a lot of people bitching about the price. I'd like to point out 2 things: first is that there's a reason why they're a national chain. The second is that not everyone appreciates quality
I agree, it's damn expensive. And yes, the models are not life sized, some of the mochis esp of cut fruits like mango, pineapple and muskmelon are significantly smaller than their displayed models. Thankfully I checkedbthe real size before purchasing
However, the "scam" ends there. Very high quality fruits, excellent craftsmanship makes this the best daifuku I've had. Given the variety of fruits and the consistent high quality execution, it's no wonder they can demand such a price. Moreover that keeps the crowd away, thank god. It's a pity not everyone appreciates it, but that just means a smoother purchase for the rest of us.
Juicy sweet fig, with white bean paste that's just sweet enough to carry the sweetness of the entire piece but without detracting from the fruitiness of the fig. Mochi layer was super soft and thin too.
It's really perfection. If you have good taste buds, don't miss this out. Esp when they have multiple outlets in the country
