Limited Edition Rocky Chocolate ๐Ÿซ Cake ๐ŸŽ‚ ้™้‡ๅคงๅœฐๅทงๅ…‹ๅŠ›่›‹็ณ• (S$13)
Available at @iLuvAhMahSg outlet in @PlazaSingapura
The flavour was not available when I tried to redeem the cake. But the staff was kind to reserve one for me to collect the following day. Soft and fluffy with rich chocolatey taste.
Thank @burpple for the giveaway.

When it comes to chocolate desserts, I like mine rich and indulgent, and this sadly didn't meet the cut. While I acknowledge the fact that the chocolate flavour from the cocoa powder is distinct, this chocolate castella cake is dry and unappetising (what happened to chocolate making people happy?!). Perhaps it was an error on my part for letting it sit in the fridge for a day and having it chilled, so I suppose a warm and fluffy cake right out from the oven may be better?

New flavour launched about 2 months back. Iโ€™ve never tried the original or cheese flavour prior to this. TBH I donโ€™t get the hype. I wasnโ€™t blown away by the taste and it wasnโ€™t addictive, more like โ€œok lorโ€.

The first time I tried this cake was in JB, citysquare ( see my earlier reviews under " desserts" ), I really didn't know how popular this cake was but it was the smell that attracted me to the bakery.

Having only paid a fraction of what it costs in Jb as compared to its sgd 8 dollars price in Singapore, it was pretty difficult to make this purchase but the thought of sinking my teeth into this jiggly spongy madness was too much to withhold.

However, the state of the cake baked here was far from satisfactorily (as you can see from the photo). The cake had caved in and although it tasted ok , it lacked the jiggly spongy texture that I was looking forward to.

Head to JB citysquare ( see my previous post under " desserts" for the shop address ) for triple the quality and one third the price .
