Heard this shop is the real deal among the endless list of 豆浆油条. A good cup of soy milk. Not too sweet, not too bland.
It's actually 永和豆浆大王 along 复兴南路, but I can't seem to get the geotag right! The McDonalds of 豆浆 spots in Taipei, I found this to offer decent - though not nearly the best - breakfast fare. Dough fritters were a tad too hard and oily; 烧饼夹蛋油条 was decent though oily; and the sweet soy milk though a little weak a fairly good. The infamous 咸豆浆 didn't taste too bad, but the messy curdled appearance was quite turn off-ish.
The thing I came for. Singapore just doesn't do egg crepes like Taiwan. This wasn't fantastic though.
As they're fresh, expect crispy and awesome youtiao. The sandwich was crispier and thinner than expected, while taste-wise it was mainly oil. Entire thing can be slightly dry.
Went to yonghe at Da'an district because heard that the other famous soya milk store (fu hang) has really a long queue. First try of salty beancurd and was really surprised because it just tastes like tofu soup HAHA but pretty good, just totally not what I expected. Enjoyed their shaobing as well. And I really hate soya milk because of this gross aftertaste (except bonsoy) but quite enjoyed the ones here.
We later tried the ximending branch which really differed in quality, especially their doughy items, so give this branch a try instead!
