Very fluffy and thick buckwheat pancake! But it gets very heavy fast and the smear of berry compote is negligible. More maple syrup and berries would make it more palatable. The cornflake crumb added a nice crunch to the otherwise one dimensional texture. But again, too little. At $19.50++, I won't recommend this.

Very large and cheap bingsu, but it lacks the sweetness and milkiness, resulting in a very plain tasting bingsu. I won't say I enjoyed it very much. Between the mango and black sesame, go for the mango as it was sweeter and more flavourful!

As though our upsized portions of the famous "Soi 19 Thai Wanton Mee" weren't enough, we had to get a plate of their braised pig trotter too. Zero regrets though as they all met my expectations.
The pale noodles looked plain but believe me, they did not taste that way at all. Cooked al dente rather than soft, every skinny strand seemed to be coated in some invisible yummy seasoning (I'm sure pork lard oil played a key role) because I could have happily eaten the noodles alone. However, being a chilli-lover, I added on a teaspoon of their "very spicy" dried chilli flakes to take things up a notch. And it was perfect. Toppings included thick slices of dark "cha siu" and sweet, firmly-crunchy Thai sausage, a few crispy wantons and blanched greens. If you're hungry, go for the large or jumbo sized servings because there's extra noodles and toppings in them.
Just as lovely was the braised pig trotter. Besides being fully saturated with the fragrant sauce it was simmered in for god-knows-how-long, everything about this was unbelievably tender. Lean part included.

Croissant was crispy and buttery! But the dill scrambled eggs didn't complement well. I may be a little biased but I feel dill should be used sparingly. The dill here overpowered the eggs and the feta cheese, with the chilli adding a strange spiciness, sort of like eating a spicy tartar sauce. Also, the over cooked scrambled egg was pretty much a deal breaker considering the hefty price of $18++.

Beef tenderloin with Gorgonzola sauce. Don't be put off by the blue cheese! Its pungency really lifted the whole dish as the steak was pretty plain. Strongly recommended to get if you are here! Priced at $20.

Seafood risotto with a mixture of clams, prawn and squid. I enjoyed the saffron sauce but my dining partners thought it tasted like plastic. Priced at $13 nett.

Wonderful lamb shank. Meat was fall off the bone and tender! The red wine sauce was quite disappointing, pretty mediocre and did nothing to the dish. However, for the portion, $22 nett is pretty good!

Beef linguine pasta in truffle cream sauce. The strips of beef interspersed throughout provided a chewy texture to the dish. The sauce is stellar - rich and creamy with hints of truffle goodness. Reasonably priced at $12 nett! #BurppleCheapNGood

Al dente risotto was flavourful with a strong hint of Parmesan cheese. The goose liver is decent, smooth and pretty melt in the mouth. At $15 nett, there is no need to deliberate - just come and join the queue! #BurppleCheapNGood

This large pot of piping hot seafood hor fun is guaranteed to fill you up! There is also plenty of sliced fish, squid and prawn. Very satisfying, especially for its price of $8.80 (weekday lunch set). Set also comes with a very refreshing yuzu tea!

The main draw is definitely the crayfish! Fresh but a bit troublesome to peel and BBQ. The cheese is alright, don't expect fanciful fondue type of cheese though. The meat spread is decent, but it gets tiresome fast. Prawns were disappointing as it was already pre cooked. The mushrooms and squid were doused in a sweet teriyaki sauce which was a huge turn off. $32.90 nett for Fri/weekends.

This amazing lava toast oozes all kinds of awesomeness! The Thai milk tea is on point, fragrant and not too sweet. Make sure to mop up all the delicious sauce with the crisp, buttery toast. I paired it with the White truffle ice cream which I loved too. It's a bit pricey, but go ahead and treat yourself.
