An unassuming outdoor BBQ place that serves up really good grilled prawns, meat, salmon, among a really wide variety of dishes. Went for the buffet option which was $49.90++ per pax; great for people who are looking to fill up their tummies at an affordable price in Bukit Timah. Staff were also so helpful, despite being busy. Appreciate the service!

La Savoir offers a delightful experience of French cuisine in an exquisite fine-dining setting, accompanied by the elegance of Hermès dinnerware.
The Butter Board features a trio bread selection accompanied by three types of butter: French sea salt butter (rich and creamy), Japanese furikake butter (rich with umami), Shrimp butter (slightly spicy and salty). I also got the Truffle Chicken Ballotine (pictured) which was so juicy and tender, and had a good range of taste and texture with the creamy butternut mousseline and pickled carrots. Overall a wonderful dining experience! Will be back again.

If you’re looking for a steakhouse near Botanic Gardens (Bukit Timah exit), I highly recommend Fat Belly. The steak was flavourful and cooked to a perfect medium rare. Also love that the wagyu had just the right amount of marbling. The other dish that really stood out to me was the Toasted Sourdough starter — bread was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Complemented the pesto in the Burrata Caprese perfectly!

Prices are on the steep side ($14 for the pork shabu and prawn noodles) but it’s worth it — soup is so flavourful and served in a claypot that keeps it warm for a long time (it’s also refillable 😄👍🏻) There are quite a lot of ingredients that come along with the set, including a hearty bowl of noodles that comes with just the right amount of onions and lard.

Meadesmoore offers up an extensive dinner menu with unique dishes like “breaded pig’s headed” and “spicy pig’s ear”, but the highlight for me was definitely their steak selection! We got the Rump Cap and the Zabuton, which were cooked to medium rare perfection — tender, juicy and paired well with Borderlaise sauce 😭🫶🏻 apart from the steak, other must-try dishes include: maitake mushroom and the smoked-ox tongue. If you’re overwhelmed by the menu (like me), you could also try their Chef’s Select ($138) which comes with 2 sharing plates, 2 sides, 2x200g of beef and a dessert!

Joo Chiat Kim Choo’s has to be one of the best! Filling is always super generous and flavourful 🤯 my top picks are the traditional Nonya dumpling and the Emperor’s rice dumpling. If you’re adventurous, you can try the Pulut Hitam dumpling too 🔥

I love fried chicken and Chir Chir serves up one of my favourites! 😋 The Rose Cheese Chiqueen is basically a bunch of chicken tenders (no bones 😬) in a pool of molten mozarella and cheese fondue. I recommend eating it with 3-4 people though as the portion is quite big, and this way, you can also order some other dishes to try as well 🤪

I love Purple Rice Yoghurt drinks and Yogost is by far the best I’ve had (left of pic) 💜 love how the purple rice is so chewy and that the yoghurt is not too sour and just the right level of sweetness and consistency 🌟

If you’re looking for Asian comfort food in a bar, Fu Lin’s where it’s at. I especially enjoyed the XO carrot cake and the beef sukiyaki (which comes with a raw egg dip) 😋Will come in the day time to try the fried ampang-style Yong Tau Fu 🙌🏻

Located just a 3 mins walk away from Sixth Avenue MRT, Meat n Chill is a perfect dinner place if you're in the mood for some delicious pork ribs. We got the chilli flavoured one which was not too spicy, but still left a slight kick that we really enjoyed. Flavour aside, the meat was so tender and it slid off the bone so easily. Comes with 2 sides; would recommend getting the chilli cheese fries!

So happy to have found a place that’s near my office for casual drinks and food. The menu’s pretty diverse, and we found ourselves ordering the Mentaiko Rosti, a donburi each (I got the negitoro don— 💯), fried chicken skin and the Crab gratin (not pictured). Negitoro portion was generous, and I love the addition of the raw quail egg 🥺👉🏻👈🏻

Was really impressed by the dishes that I tried, but my favourite out of the two has got to be the Truffle Beef bowl. The truffle wasn't too overpowering, but it lent nice fragrance to the dish. The beef itself was really amazing — soft, tender and full of flavour. The furikake topping also a nice addition :) There's also an option of either choosing salad instead of rice if you're looking for a healthier base alternative! Overall, service was really good and the food came quickly. Each bowl arrives warm too!
