The meal came with steamed rice that has been steamed individually in aluminium cups which gave the rice a soft and fluffy texture, a well marinated fried chicken thigh - crispy on the outside and so very moist on the inside, a half of a hard-boiled egg, achar, and Sambal Belacan Chili packed with fiery punch.

My lunch cost me $9 ($4 for the additional piece of chicken) - a little more than what I’d spend for lunch in a coffeeshop - but it was well worth it...!!

Wanted to do dessert at Magnum Pleasure Store but since there weren’t any seats for the family, we headed over to TCC that was just across from it. Had the Dark Devotion - TCC’s signatures molten dark Chocolate cake that oozes warm chocolate lava when cut - garnished with fresh berries, berries coulis, Chocolate and Almond Tuile and a could-be-a-bigger-scoop of Vanilla Gelato...!! So decadent, so sinful...!!

Had this Mixed Sauce Noodle (炸酱面) with some steamed dumplings from this Si Chuan Stall (四川名小吃) at this newly renovated 892C coffeeshop along Woodlands Avenue 2.

The portion of this “Chinese Spaghetti” was huge - could have shared this - noodles smothered in minced pork sauce cooked with Chinese black bean sauce with what looks like diced hard tofu, and topped with shredded cucumber - was refreshing and deliciously filling.

But the highlight of the meal was the dumplings - not just mine - but the fried gyoza, dumplings in Red oil, Xiao Long Bao and Boiled Dumplings that my colleagues also ordered to share...!! Not the best - and definitely cannot compare to those from Din Tai Fung or Crystal Jade - but decent and very reasonably priced...!!

As always, I ordered the Miam Miam Spaghetti - AGAIN...!! The pasta was well-cooked to an al-dente texture and it’s sautéed with frankfurters, tomatoes, baby spinach, Shimeji mushroom, eggplant, bacon, and tossed with French butter, their secret broth and shoyu. I especially liked the onsen egg which I mixed it in for a creamier pasta. Loved it, loved it, loved it...!!

Wanted to eat at Fatburger but we went to Miam Miam instead cos my daughter just had her braces tightened and she’s got a couple of ulcers in her mouth - she couldn’t open her mouth too wide or eat anything too hard.

Thanks to eatigo for the 50% discount - just realised that I don’t need to pay the full price for meals....at least not for this particular meal.

Got this Seafood Pad Thai for $7.95 after discount. The dish was alright - or in the words of my daughter- meh...!! The noodles were springy, the bean sprouts and the crushed nuts gave it some texture, and it was flavourful. The dish came with 2 shrimps and some squid. Having said, I’m not sure if I’d pay the full price for this cos I’ve tasted better at some Thai Stall in Coffeeshops and Hawker Centres.

The service was bad though. Considering it was almost 2pm in an almost empty restaurant, it took them a while before they took notice that I was ready to order. In fact, I had to get their attention. In additional to this, I was missing my drink when my mains were served. Seems like the staff were more interested in their private conversations at the counters. I guess that’s what you get for paying 50%...!! 😢
