We were honoured to have Les Amis' Chef de Cuisine Sebestien Lepinoy and Pastry Chef Cheryl Koh specially prepare a mille-feuille for dessert. The puff pastry was so light and crisp while the vanilla custard was so fluffy and divine. Simply one of the best desserts we have ever had.

A tiny gem hidden in Roxy Square One is Andika's Nasi Padang.

Nestled in a small food court, you can locate the stall by spotting the long queue during lunch hours. Most of the food court patrons are having the very affordable nasi padang ($4-6). There is a wide variety of dishes and they are tasty as well.

One of the most traditional places to have Singapore treats for breakfast, Chin Mee Chin Confectionery has been here for over 80 years.

When you enter, nostalgia hits you as well as the strong aromas of coffee and kaya. We recommend the must-have kaya toast with butter (they use traditional fluffy buns), cream cones, custard puffs, egg tarts and coffee.

Their sweet treats usually run out by noon so get them early in the mornings (closed on Mondays).

For an affordable French fair fix, head to Saveur. All dishes are decently priced and add bang to your buck.

Saveur Pasta - Chili oil, Japanese konbu and sakura ebi with minced pork sauce ($4.90+, yeah like seriously!)

We asked for their specialty, omelette with sugar cured prawns and sweet sambal ($16.50+). The omelette was wonderfully runny, the prawns were solid and the sambal was a unique touch. Definitely a good hearty breakfast to start your day.

Wondering what to have for lunch on Monday? Why not try The Arcade's famous fish bee hoon soup?

Hup Lee Cafeteria Fish Soup is one of the best in our opinion. The broth isn't oily and the fish tastes and feels so fresh. Of course we'll have it no other way than to add evaporated milk to the broth! The chili is also a big must.

The stall is crowded during weekday lunchtimes so you may want to consider ordering takeaways (at no additional cost!)

We couldn't take an overall decent shot of the food because everyone was so hungry.

Dragon Phoenix Restaurant prides itself in serving classical Cantonese culinary cuisine. We also come here for the dim sum because of its current promotion (all dim sum is priced at 50% during lunch hours!!!) This place isn't that crowded but do call before hand because they are usually booked for events on weekends.

It's one of the iconic places for supper in Singapore. Opened 24 hours daily, Meng Kitchen is the place to get your bak chor mee fix. We love it doused in vinegar together with the soup.

We also recommend the side of fish cake. Be patient and don't expect fantastic service as this place gets hectic at times.

Gyudon with slices of Wagyu A5 beef, an onsen egg and loads of truffles. ($34++) The only flaw we could find in this dish was that it wasn't bigger. After a taste, it'll leave you begging for more.

The food here is as great as Izy's impeccable service.

We also recommend the Karaage Crispy Chicken ($18++) and their Omakase Menu at $120++ if you're willing to splurge.

Chili crab cheese fries? Sounds perfect to us. Sri Lankan crab infused with chili, melted cheddar and scallions. Pair this with wine during Loof's Happy Hours (Monday - Friday, 5 - 8pm) and you're good to go.

When people talk about value-for-money lunch sets, Fat Cow would definitely be mentioned. The ingredients taste and look extremely fresh and the flavours are just astounding.

Our favourite dish is the glazed foie gras and grilled wagyu beef over rice.
