In case you haven't noticed, @delifrance.sg Delifrance SG has obtained its MUIS Halal certification again - finally. Yasss. Long before the other sandwich place turned halal, Delifrance was my comfort food in my previous workplace. I've had breakfast, lunch and even dinner (not on the same day la!) at the outlet just below my office that the "aunty" serving the counter knew my order so well. Funny how many years later, I encountered her at a different outlet and - even though I must have looked different from back then - she still recognised me. I didn't actually see her at first but she was excitedly calling "adek, adek" which made me look up - as did others in the queue 😂

Anyhoo, the sandwich is as what I used to remember it. Just lovin' it 😘 from the chunky chicken cubes in mayo to the crunchy cucumber and juicy tomato slices with fresh lettuce sandwiched in the fluffy croissant. (I usually order the ciabatta but there's no more of that 😔).

Yay. I loved this when they first introduced it last year. I'm still loving it now. Love the gooey dark chocolate filling in that familiar flaky pie crust that's given a cocoa rendition. 😘

La Ayam Parotta is essentially very crispy prata that uses handpulled chicken as its main ingredient 😘 accompanied by capsicum, chinese wong bok, and mozarella cheese. The chicken bits are nice and tender and not too much like in martabak. Unlike prata which you usually dip into curry, you don't really have to dip this into anything as the ingredients are cooked in a savoury sauce that has hints of mustard (or wasabi? haha) which goes very well with the handpulled chicken. Really love this.

Especially with lots of cheese like this. I was a little surprised by the generous amount of cheese. And it tasted good too. Even though I ordered this in, the fries were neither too dry nor soggy. 😘 can definitely order this again. .

Here I had the sunny side up (Altho I prefer omelette with nasi lemak!), fish cake, fish tempura and fried chicken wing. The chicken wing is a runaway winner. Super love the crispy skin yet juicy flesh. The sambal tasted a little burnt which was kinda disappointing. But when you're a hungry, hangry, hippo and nothing else seems to be open, this is a pretty good choice. .

This is also the first time I had this Three Treasures Rice. Honestly the only reason I got this is because I couldn't decide between my usual roasted chicken rice or wanton rice 😂 Anyway I'm glad I had it because the different styled chicken added a different layer of taste to the ordinary chicken rice. .

But nah it was a bit off. The patty (that replaces the buns) is basically a mashed-up Mac-and-cheese deep fried in better. You get "jelak" quite quickly. It reminds me of those curry puffs with disproportionately thick skin of batter. For this to work, you need the mac to be more moist and even soggy with dripping cheese sauce although I admit that might be difficult to achieve without creating a mess of a burger. Otherwise, this is what you get an overfried patty that is so dry and hard and brings a bad name to Mac 'N Cheese 👎 .

I really like their crispy chicken that's so crispy on the outside yet juicy on the inside. The sambal has that equal mix of spiciness and sweetness that makes me just wanna eat that on its own 😝 I know there are people who scoff at the use of basmati rice for nasi lemak. But I think this is alright especially when one is just reminded of the need to count calories 😢 .

Among the various halal buffet offered by hotels in Singapore, I've always liked Carousel Buffet the best 😘 The great assortment of food aside, the service staff are among the friendliest and most efficient I've seen, always attentive to your every need. 💓

As for the dessert, the winners for me today were the lemon meringue tarts (yummylicious) and that chocolate cake that is rich with chocolatey goodness but not overly "jelak". Very tastefully done 👏

Was thinking of adding some green chilli (cili jeruk) but I realised there's no need. The soup is a little tangy and spicy. Just the way I like it. The chicken portion is quite generous with the grilled chicken slices and two big chicken meatballs. A great way to start the day 😀

The moment I collected my order, I could literally smell the spices that made me salivate already 😘 With cumin, chilli padi, chilli oil, black pepper, sichuan peppercorn (can you feel your tongue getting numb already?), among others, it's a really complex taste of crispy fried chicken. You work your way through the spices that coat the chicken before you get that tinge of the familiar 4 Fingers soy sauce that gives it a sweet taste that helps to bring down the fiery start quite nicely. I love it 😘
