Best Ricotta Hotcakes I've tried so far! The Hotcakes were fluffy and light. The honeycomb butter went excellently with the maple syrup, bananas and Hotcakes. This is also the only Hotcakes I managed to finish on my own and still have room for desserts!

Going to a restaurant called Gyoza Bar and not trying the Gyoza is like going to a chicken rice stall asking for chicken rice without chicken. I found the Gyoza to be very suitable for strong and light palette because the taste was very mild when I ate it on its own. Yet when I dipped it with the salt that comes on the side, it suddenly burst with flavours. It's the typical snack one would order with hot sake.

I'd be honest and just say I forgot the real name of the dish because it's recommended by the waiter. I found the dish unique as they use angel hair pasta cooked with Chinese spices and ingredients with a soft boiled egg at the side. The dish is further made to stand out further by its lack of oiliness despite being fried and goes very well with the egg broken into the noodles. I felt the chef made excellent use of the ingredients and made the fusion effect very distinctive unlike some other dishes prepared for the sake of being called fusion.

Had this salmon bowl with barley and quinoa mix after a day working in the west. It's light and nicely done but honestly I prefer quinoa without the barley... other than that it's nothing out of this world but definitely a very decent lunch meal. It's also good to know that people living in ulu jurong west have something nice they can pamper themselves with.

Enjoyed the strongly flavoured dry ramen with well cooked soft boiled egg and char siew. Gyoza Bar provides a good balance for the strong and light palette with alcohol to go with the food! I totally enjoyed the chicken soup ramen with egg at Gyoza Bar. The broth was thick and flavourful. I also liked how the char siew and egg were faultless and the ramen not overdone. It's an awesome place to have dinner and chill out with a friend in the quiet little bar. In fact as I type, I feel the pang of reluctance to share about this place...

Had my lunch at .Elia on Deepavali and the food is great. I liked it that the chef got the flavours accurately right and it's amazing that they can make such wonderful flat white. The coffee is adequately creamy and sweetness well balanced without me adding sugar. Really awesome!

Brought a friend to have this for her birthday. In case it's not known, beauty in the pot waiters and waitresses will sing really loudly when the cake is brought out and the whole restaurant will know it's your birthday. They even provide beauty in the pot balloons! The broth in my opinion is many times better than Hai Di Lao. Service is on par. Price wins too. No reasons not to come here in that case if you want steamboat...

Freshly made pasta with brown butter sauce and generous chunks of Italian bacon, this is one very addictive bowl of pasta. Its flavourful, rich in taste and definitely draws the attention of your taste buds. .Elia certainly has pretty good culinary skills but service speed needs loads of improvement. You can head down for some good affordable food provided you have a lazy afternoon to spend there...

This dish is awesome for eggs lovers! The oven baked eggs with melted cheese goes really well together and it makes you dig in for more. I also liked it that there's smoked salmon, avocado as sides because it creates a healthy balance from an otherwise cholesterol rich dish.

Tried the fusion cuisines at marina square. The dishes at redpan are really interesting. Choices like charsiew chilli fries, hae bi hiam pasta and Bak chor foie gras pasta really tests the creativity of the chef. I was impressed because the flavours were incorporated well unlike other types of fusion food I wasn't too impress with. Definitely worth a try when you are bored of ordinary food! Ho Hung Kee is a 1 star Michelin restaurant in Hong Kong famous for their wonton noodles just like Mak's Noodles. I however feel that the must have is actually the sliced fish congee which is by far the best congee I've tried. The congee is smooth and you can't really feel the rice grains yet so flavourful you feel like you are drinking fish broth brewed for hours. You won't regret eating this.
