Sudado De Pescado Tomato stew with barramundi, clams, crispy quinoa. It's so refined. The only problems were it's tiny and we had to buy bread separately.

Pasta De Champinones Portobello pasta cooked with Lustau sherry wine. It looks and tasted lovely. The deep-fried mushrooms were addictive.

Virgin Mexican Sunrise A drink not on the main menu probably whipped up spontaneously by the bar. We don't know what went into it but this kind of name usually is safe hahaha.

Brownie Sundae $13.80 almond brittle fudge ice cream, flourless sweet potato brownie, mocha crunch and cacao nibs

Passionfruit Sorbet 💰 / $6.90 Vegan ice cream that packs a punch of flavors. My order was the passionfruit sorbet with charcoal wholemeal cone (+$1). The sorbet was a tad too sour for my liking, it would be the perfect complementary flavor to a double scoop situation.

Cosy, Quiet Basement Bar Mains were okay and affordable with Burpple Beyond. They had interesting cocktails, and Honey Badger cocktail was good although it was on the pricier end ($22). Overall, a cosy small basement bar for a quiet evening.

One juicy steak I savoured every bite of this steak, still juicy and paired very well with the melted butter (although its slightly more than medium rare). It also comes with a generous portion of truffle fries, which scent is on the lighter side. The steak is memorable, though i would also wish for its fats to be more melt-in-your-mouth kind of tender. Most of the menu is western/indian/middle eastern fusion. ($28) came here on labour's day eve, hence didnt get to enjoy the 1-for-1. Nevertheless, we left with happy bellies!

Retro speakeasy bar By a twist of fate, we found ourselves here at this posh bar that feels intimate and spacious at the same time. We got our own booth and got some G&T to start the night (with a conclusion that maybe G&T is not for me). Vibes of this place makes for a chill night out. Chirashi Don They got the combi right . I really dont eat tuna unless it’s fatty tuna . This one has salmon , swordfish , scallop & fried white fish . All the sashimi that i like ! It’s the best Chirashi for me . Hands down best !

Yam “Orh Ni” with Ginko Nut Sadly this is just a purely yam cake without much “orh ni” in it.

Sea Salt Caramel & Pecan Ending our meal with some cakes here. Their sea salt caramel & pecan was rich in its flavour.

[Kilo Kitchen] - The Squid Ink Rice ($29) serves in claypot is defintiely eye catching but its only for plating purposes only. It was missing that smokey flavour and burnt rice grains which one would expect in claypot rice. The finishing was also on the salty side too. [Kilo Kitchen] - I like the idea of the egg yolk, giving the Atas Lentils ($26) a coat of creaminess. The smokiness of the bacon gives it a nice contrast but I am not sure about the necessity of the truffle. If it comes with some some pita bread to mop up the lentils, that would be perfect. Hot Chocolate [$6] Wanted to get a cup of hot drink after our dinner and found ourselves at Flagwhite! My friend went with the matcha latte that uses powder from Matchaya, while I got myself a hot chocolate that uses chocolates from Fossa. They have it in 70% and 80% chocolate, and I ordered the latter on recommendation by the staff. Enjoyed the fragrant bittersweet notes!

Honey Mustard Pork Ribs Was expecting soft tender ribs but turns out the ribs were tough. The honey mustard sauce was good but wasn’t enough to save this dish. The other dishes we ordered were good. Will be giving this dish a miss then next time when we are there.

Mamanda Restaurant Great traditional Malay cuisine. Food is strictly Halal. The presentation of servings is fantastic. The staff is very friendly and courteous. The place is located in an old and traditional building (yellow house) near Malay Heritage Centre. I highly recommend this restaurant. But for the food itself, there’s still some room for improvement. PS: I love their Tauhu Telur & Beef Rendang

Nasi Ambeng Nasi Ambeng ($44/2 pax) . Watching a humongous portion of malay cai fan arranged beautifully on a platter meant for sharing sends my appetite to an overdrive. All the spices and flavours together with the bowl of curry gravy drenching over fragrant white rice never fails to give me a serious food coma. This nasi ambeng at Mamanda came with the full works of beef rendang, french beans with tempeh, crispy fried salted fish (seriously addictive), fried dessicated coconut, bergedil, sambal prawns, sambal fish, beef lungs and chicken served in a rich coconut milk curry broth. I love the heat in the spicy dishes and I especially enjoyed the curry chicken. Mamanda also serves up other rice platters but most of the rest require advance orders. All that was lacking was a glass of bundung!

Spicy Garlic Prawns (baguette, paprika lime, coriander, spring onion, roasted garlic) from The Obelisk, which recently launched its new Thai-Spanish menu (@theobelisksg). ⠀ The prawns play it less Gambas al Ajillo and more crustacean bisque, with the delectable gravy (the kind which you would want to writhe naked in a tub's worth to soak up the oceanic nourishment - take note, nudity-based travel influencers!) seemingly possessing the thick, unadulterated essence of seventy-two blissful prawn heads. 4.1/5

House Otah of Prawn, Squid and Mackerel, Papaya Salad, Kaffir Lime Powder from The Obelisk (@theobelisk.sg), a new fusion sharing plates concept along Tanjong Pagar Road. The otah was a triumph, a salacious and spicy minx which carried large, intact chunks of seafood within its folds of delectable flesh, with the papaya salad beneath providing refreshing, crunchy tartness. 4.1/5 More on The Obelisk on Secret Life of Fatbacks, link in bio etc.

Torta della nonna - Lots of pine nuts on top and within! - Taste was light with a prominent vanilla bean flavour, reminding me of a nougat which I enjoyed though it became a little one-dimensional after awhile. - Ricotta provided a mild milkiness, filling had a densely thick texture. - Crust was buttery sweet with a crumbly, biscuit-like bite similar to shortbread 🥧

May Weekend Special - Flourless Chocolate Lime Cake My Sunday got significantly better with Mother Dough’s May weekend special! Their Flourless Chocolate Lime Cake ($8) with a side of cream was very nicely done as well. The subtle zing from the addition of lime-infused cream was wonderfully refreshing and texture-wise was surprisingly airy. Fudgy and moist, the slice was not overly rich or cloying but best shared in my opinion as it was pretty chocolatey. 

May Weekend Special - Strawberry Rhubarb Morning Bun My Sunday got significantly better with Mother Dough’s May weekend special! Going straight for their Strawberry Rhubarb Morning Bun ($9), the crisp-flakey danish was so good. Filled with sweet-tangy Strawberry Rhubarb Jam, the pastry had a lovely Vanilla Custard hidden near the base - love the contrasting soft curd-like bites. The crunchy Pistachio Crumble was also very fragrant and nutty. Crowned with a soft Torched Cream Meringue, the buttery bake was simply yummy and superbly textured~
