8 colour set is to die for. If I was a cow with 4 stomach, I'll have it all myself along with the Wagyu Ribeye. Go in groups so you can get everything on the menu: octopus, spring onion salad, pork belly, wagyu, ginseng chicken
Get the baguette, dip it in the sauce, make sure you get your hands dirty and oily. Crab is always fresh and comes off easy in huge chunks, the sauce is the da bomb. I never leave any sauce behind.
Housed in Kam Leng Hotel along Jalan Besar, Suprette is a cosy restaurant that does great food. There's only one burger here: the Suprette Burger. Hidden beneath a toasted sesame bun is a huge, juicy beef patty with melted gruyere. You can (and should) add trimmings like balsamic onion relish (yes you should), bacon (yes you should), and mushrooms (yes you should). It also comes with a huge portion of free flow fries, but you probably won't need a refill! Note that the burger is $20 at lunch, but $25 at dinner.
If you haven't yet tried the Pulled Pork Sanger at Burnt Ends, you're missing out. Imagine this: Brioche bun. Cheese. Pickled jalapenos. Red cabbage slaw. Tangy chipotle aioli. Smoky, juicy, tender pork shoulder that's been cooked for 10 hours and lovingly pulled. Brioche bun (again). Sink your teeth into all that and you'll be catapulted to heaven with the combination of textures and flavours. Pure satisfaction. Beware, it can get pretty messy!
Expect a rich satisfying buttery pastry that crumbled in our mouths! Naturally sweet banana fillings complemented with fresh coconut shreds and cream topped with crunchy diced almonds, so good that it kept us as a patron for more than a decade! #makanhunt #makeyourcaloriescount #openricesg #food #foodies #foodphotography #foodphotography #instafood #instadaily #indulgence #bananapie #desserts #butter #fragrance #aroma #freshlybaked #sgig #igsg #shiok #yummy #pie #tart #banana #coconut #cream #musttry #sgfoodies #sgfooddiaries #sgfood #katong #mondayblues
Featured: Yuan Yang Cheesecake and Flat White (Dutch Colony beans). Coffee is pretty good, cheesecake is nice though my buds would have preferred stronger teh. Cute quaint place that serves coffee, cakes and muffins and due to serve brunch soon #kkoffeequest #cafe #sgcafe
Beef short ribs, bovril, daikon, bonito. The beef was SOOOO good, a few mouthfuls were slick with rich, buttery, fatty bits that melted in the mouth like a dream. The daikon fries, however, were tasteless and did nothing for me.
If you are the one who can't miss out on hipster cafes, Craftsmen would be the place of your choice to chill especially with its industrial theme. If the orange cups look similar, that's because they are affiliated to Dutch Colony Coffee from Pasarbella. Not really a fan of their rather light-bodied coffee but it definitely has the potential of being an uprising cafe.
True to Teppei style, Hanare offers two value-for-money buffet options: full buffet at $19.90 (one main dish + free flow of 20 side dish options) or bara set at $17.90 (chirashi don + free flow of 4 side dish options). While the full buffet had interestingly respectable dishes like whole garlic cloves cooked in Japanese spice, I much preferred the bara set. Topped with an incredibly generous portion of fresh chunky pieces of sashimi like salmon, tuna, scallop, surf clam, swordfish and roe, the chirashi was incredibly indulgent, save for the overpowering sesame dressing. If you're ordering this, you might probably want to request for the dressing on the side. Be sure to head down early; by 12:30pm, the 42-seater was packed with a dozen PMEBs waiting in line. Definitely worth the money, and best of all, you won't need to make a reservation two months in advance. #foodporn #foodreview #foodie #hanare #japanese #food #chirashi #sashimi
The casual atmosphere at this New American gastropub certainly will put you at ease despite some unfamiliar dishes on their seasonally-changing menu. Rachel tells us more about this exceptional foie gras dish: "Inspired by a certain dish in US which he tasted then to be "the best thing I've had", this is what executive chef Benjamin declares to be the usurper of that title. I can see why - the strange combination of melt-in-the-mouth foie gras on crisp toasted brioche works surprisingly and superbly well with sweet elements of dark chocolate ganache and mashed bananas, crunchy granola crumbs and smokey bacon jam. I don't know if this is THE best thing I've ever had, but it certainly ranks among the top and for a non-foie gras fan like me, that's saying a lot."
This beautiful new concept from Bali has taken over Keong Saik's iconic Tong Ah Kopitiam, and is thankfully serving great food in an inviting space. Tuck into a Three Buns burger on the whimsical second floor, and move upstairs to the third floor bar for a drink, or the rooftop garden if the weather permits.
Previously an old provision shop, Tian Kee is now a lovely cafe that amazingly retains nostalgia in the idyllic Dakota neighborhood. Complete with familiar toys, a kiddy ride outside that still works and no air con, this might just be the perfect spot to relax (until the crowd fills it up). Coffee is light, beans sourced by Dutch Colony, and the cakes are elegant. GO, before it's too late!
