As you should expect from an ice cream bar, Fatcat meets the expectation of serving very good ice cream made from scratch daily. But more than just serving exciting flavours like the well-loved Butter Beer and Hay & Honey, they go one step further by creating beautiful plated dessert experiences. Choose a flavour or two from their 18 ice creams to grace the top of their charcoal waffle with salted egg sauce. For another unusual bite, try their incredibly refreshing Lime Mojito Sphere -- an explosion of zesty goodness in your mouth. New desserts are regularly introduced in limited quantities daily (just like their waffles), so be sure to get there early to avoid disappointment!
Housed in Kam Leng Hotel along Jalan Besar, Suprette is a cosy restaurant that does great food. There's only one burger here: the Suprette Burger. Hidden beneath a toasted sesame bun is a huge, juicy beef patty with melted gruyere. You can (and should) add trimmings like balsamic onion relish (yes you should), bacon (yes you should), and mushrooms (yes you should). It also comes with a huge portion of free flow fries, but you probably won't need a refill! Note that the burger is $20 at lunch, but $25 at dinner.
This humble eatery at the bottom of a HDB block in Ang Mo Kio is always packed on the weekends with families happily tucking in, and with good reason. You'll understand why, once you try their signature dishes - Deep Fried Prawn Ball With Pumpkin & Butter Sauce, Black Currant Sauce Pork Ribs, and Dong Po Pork Belly. With pleasant service and honest, good food, you'll be back.
At this humble spot along Casuarina, you might just find some of the best crabs (at a really reasonable price) in Singapore. Butter crab, chili crab, pepper crab - take your pick. Also order the Hot Plate Beancurd and the La-la! Great for a satisfying meal with a bunch of friends you haven't seen in a while.
