Taking advantage of Chope’s March offer at Nassim Hill Bistro: 1-for-1 pastas (full portion)! The tiger prawns aglio olio spaghetti was tasty + spicy; prawns were fresh and succulent. The Pappardelle Meat Ragu was tomato based and had a rich meaty flavour (oxtail, pork shoulder & minced beef cooked in red wine). The pastas were done al-dente as well. They also had a happy hour promo: 1-for-1 for their beer on tap!
Army stew with loads of goodies inside!! You can choose from 3 types of meat (chicken, beef and pork) - we chose pork and beef slices this time round. Comes with tofu, carrots, leeks, spring onions, vege, ricecake (topokki), enoki mushrooms, luncheon meat, sausages, beancurd skin, baked beans, kimchi and ramyeon. The set comes with one side (chose their potato pancake) and one dessert. i like the taste of their soup as it has the right balance of being savoury, sweet and spicy at the same time!! Really filling and satisfying meal! 😋
Was a little disappointed by this rice bowl as it tasted rather bland and i felt it could’ve been much tastier. The salmon was kinda overcooked (looked like it was cooked sous vide style) and there was not enough terriyaki sauce. The combination of the white radish slices, tamago and avocado was interesting as they provided a crunchy yet creamy texture to the dish. Overall, it was lacking in flavour and i’m unlikely to order this again.
This bowl is full of yummy goodness!! Comes with multiple slices of well-marinated ribeye beef, a sizeable piece of pan seared foie gras, truffle hon shimeji mushrooms, a 72degree onsen egg and garnished with fried garlic chips, japanese pickles, spring onions and sesame seeds. Mix everything in with the bed of rice underneath and what you’ll get is a seriously delicious tasting combination! 😋 it is quite a sizeable portion and can be shared by two persons 😊
Didn’t feel like poached eggs, so the waitress offered to give us the option of scrambled eggs instead 😊 This dish was very well-executed - with the warm toasted fluffy muffins, maple candied bacon, juicy tomatoes, crispy rosti patty and scrambled eggs which were creamy and tasty! Overall taste of this dish was really goood!! 😋
Looking to satisfy your ice cream cravings? Try aRoma’s gelato - it is extremely creamy yet also had a nice “bite” (texture wise) to it. Both flavours tasted super “nutty” to my delight and was not overly sweet. They have a large variety of flavours to choose from and are generous in letting you try the different flavours before you decide which flavours you would like to get. Will be back to try their other flavours! 😋
Always my favourite place to go when i’m craving for chinese desserts! Their Novena branch is more spacious and less crowded than their Bugis branch which can get really cramped during peak hours. These two desserts have the right amount of sweetness for me (not overly sweet). The white fungus papaya with almond paste is smooth and soothing for the throat while the water chestnut soup with egg and herbal jelly is refreshing and cooling for the body.
Finally trying this 干捞面 mixed with black sauce and chilli sauce - comes with meatballs, minced pork, ikan billis, mushrooms and vegetables. The handmade noodles were QQ and chewy in texture and the chilli sauce was indeed potent (hooray for those who love their food really spicy). Overall, the taste came well together with the black sauce and the accompanying bowl of soup was tasty, thick and helped to wash down the spiciness 😋
This crispy pork belly burger was definitely worth the hype and 15min wait! Four thick slices of these crackling pork belly drizzled with hoi sin sauce and yellow mustard and sliced cucumbers were enclosed between two fluffy buns. The crackling pork belly skin was so crispy with every bite and the fats were melt-in-your-mouth!🤤 super sinful but absolutely delish! It was a little messy to eat so bring along some wet wipes to conquer the aftermath 😉
Hands down this is the best tendon i’ve eaten thus far. Every single piece of tempura was so flavourful, i was seriously spoilt for choice as to which to eat first. For $15, the portion and large variety of tempura (chicken, prawns, sotong, mushroom, long beans, corn etc.) they gave was definitely worth the price. The hokkaido pearl rice had a nice chewy texture and the tempura was well fried. Combined with the original or spicy sauce, everything came very well together.
An interesting blend of sweet, salty and slight bitterness in one bottle! The saltiness of the drink hits you first, followed by the sweet chocolately flavour and leaves with a slightly bitter aftertaste. A drink to try if you’re feeling adventurous or if you’re someone who likes varying flavours simultaneously in your mouth 😉
Still my favourite place to get my waffle fix! Haven’t been here for a while and i’m glad to say that their waffles are still goood!! Crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. This one comes with awesome milo crumble (think milo cookies), vanilla bean ice cream, caramelized bananas and chocolatey milo sauce to drizzle over it 😍 #cravingsatisfied
