The raspberry jam helps to cut the sweetness a little and the chocolate lines cone stayed somewhat crisp. I took one for the gram but that doesn’t mean you should too.

I had the pandan Melaka (found on dessert page) which composed of Pandan waffles that are crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside; creamy ice cream, sprinkling of cornflake and cashew served with gula and butter cake. The sweet and slight saltiness is well balanced. This is highly recommended. Their French Toast is really eggy, if that’s your thing. Overall a great meal and even better conversations.

The service was stellar starting from when we dropped off at the resort - the concierge walked us through the pathway to the restaurant and made sure we settled in. The food was great, except for the seafood basket which was just steamed seafood served with sauce. The chicken Kiev was delightful, and so was the pomelo salad and tomyum kung. I indicated on my reservation that we were celebrating a birthday and they went all out to delight us with free desserts on dried ice, a cupcake with candle, song and light show ... definitely a meal to remember. Their wait staff was also sharp to identify that I took a picture of the wine label with Vivino, something I wouldn’t have expected.

It conjures the taste of baked Japanese sweet potato (a la Donki) and the colour just so adorable. Don’t ask me where I bought it, like I said- it showed up in my fridge 😇

The food at Aop Seafood is far cry from the Thai food we’re used to but some dishes hit the mark (eg green curry fried rice). The service can be somewhat slow even at non-peak hours but all things considered, we liked it enough to eat there twice on a short trip.

Reunion Lunch-Dinner is irrefutably my favourite meal in the whole year. Helping with preparation and cleaning up is also part of the joy in sitting around a table and eating together with an effervescent joyous mood. May I have many many more years of this!

Did I like their food? Check out my review (link in blog). TL;DR - save it for when you need to impress, don’t need their number on speed dial.

A chill cozy bar along Orchard Road featuring a jellyfish tank and lounge vibe.

Featured is the Signature Egg ($9.90) consisting of scrambled eggs, cheese, hash brown, onion jam and chipotle aioli. It’s spicy, drippy and sinful. The chipotle aioli is a little too spicy and covers up the taste of the other items, but all in all it’s an interesting burger that’s really breakfast for dinner. Located in Icon Village that has no lack of good food, time will tell if this joint can maintain their niche and prevail.

The scale and cosequent crowd is smaller, hence a much cosier and pleasant festival experience. we tried food from 3 stalls- Meatballs in A Bucket by @sofnade ($10), Singapore Laksa by PGFN ($5) and Roasted Pork by Pao’er ($10, that I featured in the stories ytd). The vibe is suitably chill, and the food satisfying albeit somewhat expensive, to be expected of festival prices. They run for another weekend till 20th Jan!

Check out this juicy succulent beauty from Tiong Bahru Pau (ironically in Toa Payoh) - it’s a convenient packet of savoury meat juice best indulged warm.
