Taking over the pets cafe at Jalan Leban is Tai Pei Seoul Cafe. Saw that they have this Tiramichoux here which got me pretty interested for how much I love good Choux puffs. It's almost the same size as the one from Dulcet & Studio, though the puff could be a little more crisp over the top โ the pastry was a little dry but still decent though a tad monotonous texturally. Inside, the coffee cream comes in a way similar to ice-cream; cold, creamy and smooth though very light in flavour, mostly drowned by the cocoa powder and chocolate sauce which provides for the "tiramisu" flavour. A little hard to convince at $5.50 for one though. They do offer a few mains and other desserts such as waffles and Honey Toasts as well.
Tai Pei Seoul Cafe is situated at 10 Jalan Leban, Singapore 577551.
The skin of the chicken thigh has the perfect crispiness and it goes well with the spaghetti and the black pepper sauce. We finished every single bit of it! ๐

Famished? Or harbouring a bottomless pit? Get the Set B ($14++). It comes with a bowl of ramen of your choice (the soup of their classic is fabulous but if you like to feel some heat, go for the spicy) plus a small bowl of rice topped with a large piece of chashu, a helping of pork belly pieces and half an onsen egg. I would not consider their meats spectacular but for the price of the set, it's worth it.

One of their specials will be the Milo Dinosaur Waffle ($8.00) where you can choose any ice cream flavor (Salted Mister Brown was selected in this picture) and have it on top of a milo powder sprinkled x chocolate waffle! Super decadent! ๐๐ Oh and I had the Mao Shan Wang ice cream ($3.80 for a Junior Scoop) to satisfy my durian craving ๐๐
I've had many iterations of this heavenly pairing before, but The Daily Scoop blows them all outta the water. The thick, sticky Cinnamon Cookie ice cream clung to my fork and the brownie stubbornly and was the perfect marriage partner to the crumbly, moist yet slightly crispy brownie. The Cinnamon Cookie ice cream is not cloyingly sweet, but just enough to complement the chocolatey, sweet brownie that crumbled in all the right places. Swirl this already sinful pairing around in the supporting cast of dark chocolate sauce and icing sugar and you have effectively broken all Ten Commandments. Please excuse me while I find the nearest church so that I can confess this sin and seek forgiveness.
A healthy lunch that wasn't overly filling. The regular Poke bowl (100g of salmon) starts at $12.50 and you can select the regular ingredients for free, or add on $1 or $2 per ingredient for the "premium" range which consists of exciting things like kale chips or pomegranate seeds to get your poke bowl looking extra fine!
Was feeling lazy so I decided to use Deliveroo to order in today! It's great that they have so many options available to choose from.
I wanted to have some variety and finger food to snack for the rest of the afternoon, so Truly Test Kitchen seemed like the appropriate choice seeing as they have so many different rice bowls and sides to choose from.
My food came quicker than expected (< 30 mins) packed in nice boxes and cartons with utensils provided - really fuss-free and convenient! The food was served hot and extremely generous portions were given. We ordered the fried chicken chop curry rice bowl ($4), the pork chop rice bowl with sauce ($4), fried pork belly with sambal ($4), cheese fries ($4) and fried radish cake ($4). We also added fried fish fillet ($1.50), a braised egg ($0.50) and boneless soy chicken thigh ($1.50) to our rice bowls. Really cheap and affordable!
This is simple comfort food at its best. The curry was really fragrant and very thick, making for a nice sauce. The fried meats were still quite crisp despite being delivered, and went really well with the curry and braised sauce. Their fried radish cake was also a winner - crisp outside while soft and fluffy inside. The sambal provided really packed a punch and complimented the pork belly really well. Needless to say, we were stuffed and satisfied.
During their Western Week (1-7 August), you will get to enjoy a 1-for-1 promotion! Enjoy life a little and order in, because you deserve the best! #BYDTB #BurppleRoo
I love how with the Burpple Tastemakers community, a sinful supper doesn't seem like much of a crazy idea at all even though we just had a tasting! Have been wanting to try this and now that I've did, the one word to describe it is SHIOK. I thought I was too full for a whole plate but nah, how do you resist a beautiful mess like this? Enjoyed the pork cutlet and ngoh hiang but I loved the thoroughly braised cabbage and magical concoction of curry + lor (braised sauce) drenched all over. Affordable, effortlessly tasty and so satisfying!
so say wikipedia. vis-a-vis technically, we are partaking a gastronomic journey that dates back hundreds of years.

three times here and still it didn't disappoint (consistency checked) - the almost grease free crisp exterior batter that does not feel heavy or stale from repeated oil reveals moist firm succulent flesh. dip into the in-house made rich tartare sauce, paired with addictive fries and revel in joy that this is unbelievably under $10. i may be biased because this is in my hood but missus' 3 times approval cannot be ignored. and you know what they say.. "the wife is always right." #burpplecheapngood #burpproved
