Horrible staff attitude, would not recommend don’t usually write reviews but this was so bad i have to leave a review to warn everyone. manager CLARENCE was extremely rude & unwelcoming, and it wasn’t just his unfriendly, unbothered tone. maybe he was unhappy that we were using burpple beyond deals, because he sent out their young part time staff a few times to pester us to quickly order, less than 5 min after we sat down. this place is in hort park, which has many dogs, and has a sign that states their al fresco area is pet friendly. well let me say - they are NOT. the manager clarence refused to give us a bowl for water, not even a disposable takeaway container. he tried to get us to order soups to get the extra bowls, which is such cheap behaviour for a nice place like this. he also snapped his fingers rudely at my dog a few times as he walked past, not sure what his deal was. while it is understandable that their younger staff might just be either part timers or interns, i think dropping cutlery on our (glass top) table more than a few times is hard to be okay with, especially when in a place that charges $30 per dish with a high end restaurant setting. they also dropped dirty cutlery near our phones at least once, and a knife nearly fell on my dog’s eye. the food was okay, but we would rather forego our remaining burpple vouchers than have to come back and pay so much for this terrible dining experience. the worst part is that we were really looking forward to trying this place, seeing the good reviews. edit: seeing google reviews, i noticed that there are really bad reviews of this place too, with multiple specifically for clarence (he’s a filipino guy). think twice before going.

Vineyard at HortPark 4.25⭐ Location is a bit out of the way as it's inside HortPark but the tranquil ambiance makes up for it. The server told us that this is a popular wedding venue and it's rare to be open to public on weekend. Since we are using the Amex Love Dining, all food item excluding drinks are entitled to 50% discount with a minimum order of 2 mains. We ordered an appetizer, 2 mains, a dessert and a drink. The appetiser white wine mussel is served first. We are impressed by the size of the mussel, it's green-lip mussel which is larger than the blue and Mediterranean mussels. The garlic bread served was freshly toasted too. WB ordered the squid ink risotto as he attracted by the big prawns shown in the menu. The prawn are served seared and it'll be nicer if the scallop are seared too. I had the duck confit, it's so tender that I thought I'm eating chicken. Ended the meal with Tiramisu to satisfy my sweet tooth. Wagyu Don Ordered the most expensive Wagyu Don on a Saturday. With Burpple, I get the Anago Don free. And I can choose two items of side dishes and pay for only one. I chose Chawanmushi and Miso Soup. Quite a good place for lunch with a partner, using Burpple Beyond.

Aburi Salmon Scallop Don Honestly, was a bit disappointed. The scallops didn’t taste fresh. And there wasn’t enough sauce to flavour the rice (unless you count soy sauce)

Cannot use burpple at all Guys please dont go if you want to use burpple. Saw review saying that burpple cannot be used for dinner, so i went down during lunch and we were informed it cannot be used too. Waitress kept saying she dont know about the deal and want us to order food first. After i insisted she checked before i order, she said they are no longer accepting burrple deal.

Cold Tofu with Century Egg Never mind if they informed me that Burpplebeyond deals were not accepted for dinner.I was very pleased with the large portioned, affordable food here! This place is a new found gem. Comfortable Setting With Good Service! Tried the tomato soup and chicken soup(recommended). Tomato soup was a little sweet for my liking but the chicken soup is good! Will come back to try the prawn soup!

Good for a rainy day Hororok is a small shop with 4 seats only, $17.90 burpple set includes 2 stews and 2 drinks (yuzu or barley). Taste wise is quite average tasting,good amount of ingredients - satisfying on a rainy day Saw that some reviews included ice cream but I think it’s no longer part of the burpple deal as at Sep 2023. Saw that the ala carte price for the stews are $9.90(R) /$11.90 (L) so the deal is not exactly 1-for-1. Would come back if I’m around the area looking for an affordable, quick fix Korean stew

Comfort Korean soup Ok my photo doesn’t do this justice haha If you’re looking for some decent Korean soup especially during rainy days, this is perfect. Not too expensive and with beyond even more worth it (I like that I get to finish the meal with a melona ice cream)

Army Stew (Burpple set @ $17.40) The army stew was rather thin and light tasting, similar to the type of soup you’d get in instant noodles. I was expecting a heavier, stronger tasting one. It’s still overall an okay tasting soup though, if you think of it just as a fancy instant noodle soup of some sort. Could do with more of them thicker chunkier spam instead of thinly sliced ham too. The stews comes with a small bowl of rice as well by default but feel free to pay more for additional noodles. As part of the Burpple deal, you get a drink (choice between canned coke or canned ice lemon tea) and an ice cream (melona, supposedly). But the owner didn’t tell us when we were ordering that there was no more ice cream, so only after we’ve paid and finished our meal that he told us there was no ice cream left and offered to give us a can drink in replacement. Which was SO not worth it btw, but honestly what can we say!? We’ve already paid - my opinion is that he should’ve checked and made sure we were okay with the replacement before he took our payment. Otherwise, the staff was actually quite nice. We visited on a Thursday evening and there were not many patrons. It was easy enough to get a seat although the shop is small with limited capacity - a table for 4 and a counter-facing table for 2-3. Wouldn’t be suitable for big groups. In conclusion an alright choice for the price and location only after the Burpple deal. Would only get it if I happen to be around the area and am craving for some Korean stew but don’t want to pay too much for restaurant prices.

Lamb Shank so much goodness packed into 1 plate. the meat slid off the bone effortlessly and was super succulent. mixed with its special spice and herbs sauce which was so unique and delectable. the blue pea rice was also very tasty and fragrant. finished the last bite wanting for more

Homemade Crab Cakes, 19 Packed full of juicy crabmeat. A must try

1f1 tasting portion Tried the lamb ragu and the mentaiko pasta. We chose the pumpkin Pasta with the ragu sauce but we felt another pasta would have went better with the rich sauce. I love the lamb sausage too with the feta. The mentaiko was nice as usual. We also tried the mushroom soup but it was pretty mid. Very worth work burpple deal!

Tiramisu ($8.90) Small and it was served just in a small container. The alcohol taste was quite strong and the mascarpone was sweet and creamy, but we couldn’t really taste the coffee in it. All in all, average and not memorable.

Ragu ($25.90) with Beetroot Lunghi I thought this would look better but the aesthetic was a bit lacking. The portion was also small and the beef was tough. The beef cubes were flavourful, but very tough (full of tendons that were very tough to bite). The sauce for this was quite watery too and didn’t stick to the beetroot Lunghi well.

Buffet ($55) 🥩 9/10 There's a reason why the brazil churrasco at ave 6 has been around for 27 years -- it's amazing charred meats and atmosphere! The moment I stepped into the churascuro, I was enveloped by a jovial atmosphere and surrounded by large chunks of speared meat. Gulping down my salivation, I flipped my "want meat" token to green immediately. Finally, a passador approached our table and cut us a thin sliver of meat. "More, please!" I pleaded, and the passador acquiesced. In fact, he later proceeded to dump humongous slices of smoked duck, lamb, beef, roast chicken, and even chicken hearts on my plate! 😂 We ate till bursting but it was smiles all around throughout dinner. They have a wide range of heavily charred meats here but go for the rump, and the shortrib -- you definitely won't be disappointed. Bonus points go to the fried kailan, which delivered a light respite in between the meat, and the scrumptious Brazilian beans.

The cuts of meat are not nearly as varied as at the best rodizios in Brasil, but you still find delicious picanha, cupim, chicken hearts, filet mignon, etc. For me, the best time to visit is for brunch on Sunday. You can enjoy a nice siesta afterwards, whereas after a dinner here you might not feel good for a long time! Anyway, you would not want to eat meat for a while after a meal here.

Uni Pasta Pasta with uni, sakura ebi, ikura and truffle mushroom cream sauce. The uni was fresh and creamy which complemented very well with the al-dente truffle pasta. I like how the taste of truffle was prominent yet not too overpowering. Also not forgetting the sakura ebi that added crunch and the bursting flavours from the ikura 😍 》$47

Black Cod Soy Flaky and velvety baked black cod fillet coated with special soy marinated with slight hints of sweetness. The skin was crispy and the cod practically melts in the mouth with a rich and buttery texture 🤤 》$43

molten lava cake among all the desserts i’ve tried here, i think their molten lava cake was the best. cake had this oozing lava flowing out when being cut into. paired really well with the ice cream and it’s a sweet ending to a good meal
