Very nicely grilled squid. It was chewy but yet soft enough for you to eat without having to chew forever. If you are one to prefer your grilled squid doused with seasoning or sauce then this would be too bland. But if you like your squid to taste true to its original taste then I would recommend to get this.
Love the fresh raw seafood together with the rice. The set also comes with chawanmushi, fruits, miso soup and a side dish consisting of jellyfish and bell peppers.
Really love this radish cake. Crunchy on the outside but soft and moist on the inside. The prawns were fresh and sweet as well. Even the father whom would usually nag us for getting pasar malam/hawker food at premium prices gave a nod of approval.
Really like the combination of the cookies, cream and almond. Made quite a mess while trying to mix everything up because of the crumbs. I very much prefer the shaved ice they used here as compared to the ones in Cafe Benne.
Love this very much. Fresh seafood and the rice is well flavored with vinegar. More strongly than most of the rice served by Japanese restaurants. It might not be a fav to people who prefers plain rice.
You can never go wrong with Nutella. Nutella cake in pie crusts topped with ice-cream. It is much better when the pie is heated up first before they serve it. Unfortunately they didn't on my 3rd visit to this branch.
Thai coconut ice-cream with toppings which includes kidney beans, corn, peanuts, almonds and roasted coconut shavings. Taste wise I think Sangkaya's coconut ice-cream has a stronger coconut taste but this definitely has better toppings. RM6.50 for a single scoop but you can also upgrade it to be served in a coconut for RM10.50. RM10.50 for double scoops and RM15.50 for triple scoops.
Chef's selection of fresh seafood and vegetables in spicy miso soup for RM78. It contains prawns, scallops, salmon, squids, mussels, a variety of mushrooms, cabbage, glass noodle and tofu. Pretty worth it since you get so much of seafood and it is actually big enough for two to share. Really like the added spicy taste to the miso soup!
Braised spaghetti with flower crab and assorted seafood for RM48. Visual wise it is a stunning looking dish with the crab sitting beautifully on top of the spaghetti. However taste wise, I found the broth to be very salty.
Toro, foie gras, wagyu, crabmeat, prawn, salmon and cucumber wrapped with seaweed, rice and chicken floss. Love the combination though you must be ready to fork out RM78.
First time trying truffle fries. To be honest I actually like the fries alone with the cheese but together with the sauce it was really not bad. The truffle in the sauce wasn't over powering like in some other dishes I have tried. Still it is not really my cup of tea. Will try some other truffle fries and compare again. Maybe truffle fries are suppose to taste like these and it is just not something I fancy eating all the time.
Pancakes, bacon, pistachio and chocolate ice cream. Sounds and definitely looked like an chocolate overload experience but surprisingly I didn't get jelak. Ate the whole thing on my own. Though the owners really do have to do something about all the flies. It's ridiculous for a cafe or even anywhere that serves food to have that bad of a fly problem.
